Self-operated Regulators Type 2373 Pressure Reducing
Self-operated Regulators
Type 2373 Pressure Reducing Valve for Corrosive Media
Applications
Pressure regulators for set points from 0.8 to 16 bar · Valve
sizes DN 15 to 50 1) · Nominal pressure PN 40 · Suitable for
liquids and gases up to 80 °C
The Type 2373 Pressure Reducing Valve controls the pressure
downstream of the valve (p2) to the adjusted set point pset point
within the range between 0.8 to 16 bar.
Special features
• Low-maintenance proportional regulators requiring no
auxiliary energy
• All wetted parts are free of non-ferrous metal
• Wide set point range and easy set point adjustment over a
nut
• Soft-seated plug for high shut-off requirements

Principle of operation
The medium flows through the valve (1) as indicated by the
arrow. The position of the valve plug (3) determines the flow
rate across the area released between the plug and seat (2).
To control the pressure, the set point springs (7) are tensioned
by the set point adjuster (6) so that the valve is opened by the
force of the set point springs when it is relieved of pressure
(p1 = p2).
The downstream pressure p2 to be regulated is tapped
downstream of the valve, transmitted over the control line (14)
to the operating diaphragm (12) where it is converted into a
positioning force. The positioning force is used to adjust the
valve plug (3) depending on the force of the set point springs.
The plug stem (5) together with the plug is connected to the
actuator stem (11).
The spring force can be adjusted at the set point adjuster (6). If
the force resulting from the downstream pressure p2 exceeds the
pressure set point adjusted, the valve closes in proportion to the
change in pressure.

Installation
In normal cases, install the regulator in a
horizontal pipeline with actuator in an
upright position.
Refer to EB 2534 EN for further details on
installation.
– The direction of medium flow must
correspond with the arrow on the
valve body.
– Install a strainer upstream of the valve.
