Self-operated Regulators Type 2373 Pressure Reducing
Self-operated Regulators Type 2373 Pressure Reducing Valve for Corrosive Media Applications Pressure regulators for set points from 0.8 to 16 bar · Valve sizes DN 15 to 50 1) · Nominal pressure PN 40 · Suitable for liquids and gases up to 80 °C The Type 2373 Pressure Reducing Valve controls the pressure downstream of the valve (p2) to the adjusted set point pset point within the range between 0.8 to 16 bar. Special features • Low-maintenance proportional regulators requiring no auxiliary energy • All wetted parts are free of non-ferrous metal • Wide set point range and easy set point adjustment over a nut • Soft-seated plug for high shut-off requirements Versions Type 2373 Pressure Reducing Valve consisting of: Actuator with rolling diaphragm made of EPDM, FPM or NBR Valve with body made of corrosion-resistant steel 1.4408 Nominal sizes DN 15 to 50 ANSI version Special version With special materials for applications involving sea water: 1.4538, duplex 1.4470 · Nickel-based alloy: 9.4610 · With flanges in higher pressure ratings · Other special materials on request Accessories Screw joint to connect control line Control line kit for pressure tapping directly at the body 1) Fig. 1 · Type 2373 Pressure Reducing Valve Larger nominal sizes on request Associated Information Sheet T 2500 EN Edition October 2013 Data Sheet T 2534 EN Principle of operation The medium flows through the valve (1) as indicated by the arrow. The position of the valve plug (3) determines the flow rate across the area released between the plug and seat (2). To control the pressure, the set point springs (7) are tensioned by the set point adjuster (6) so that the valve is opened by the force of the set point springs when it is relieved of pressure (p1 = p2). The downstream pressure p2 to be regulated is tapped downstream of the valve, transmitted over the control line (14) to the operating diaphragm (12) where it is converted into a positioning force. The positioning force is used to adjust the valve plug (3) depending on the force of the set point springs. The plug stem (5) together with the plug is connected to the actuator stem (11). The spring force can be adjusted at the set point adjuster (6). If the force resulting from the downstream pressure p2 exceeds the pressure set point adjusted, the valve closes in proportion to the change in pressure. 6 7 10 11 12 14 5 Installation In normal cases, install the regulator in a horizontal pipeline with actuator in an upright position. Refer to EB 2534 EN for further details on installation. – The direction of medium flow must correspond with the arrow on the valve body. – Install a strainer upstream of the valve. 2 p2 p1 1 3 Type 2373 Pressure Reducing Valve 1 2 3 5 6 7 10 11 12 14 Valve body Seat Plug with soft sealing Plug stem Set point adjuster Set point springs Actuator Actuator stem Operating diaphragm Control line Upstream pressure p1 Downstream pressure p2 Fig. 2 · Functional diagram 2 T 2534 EN Table 1 · Technical data · All pressures in bar (gauge) Type 2373 Pressure Reducing Valve Nominal size DN 15 to DN 50 1) Nominal pressure PN 40 80 °C 2) Max. perm. temperature Max. perm. differential pressure Dp See Table 3 Set point ranges 0.8 to 2.5 bar · 2 to 5 bar · 2.4 to 6.3 bar · 4.5 to 10 bar · 8 to 16 bar Leakage rate acc. to IEC 60534-4 Metal-seated plug Soft-seated plug £ 0.05 % of KVS (leakage class I) £ 0.01 % of KVS (leakage class IV) Actuator Actuator diaphragm area 1) See Table 4 · Dimensions and weights Larger nominal sizes on request 20 °C for sea water (approx. 3.5 % salt content) with duplex 1.4462/1.4470 or 40 °C with super duplex 1.4410/1.4469 2) Table 2 · Materials · Material number according to DIN EN Valve Valve body Stainless cast steel 1.4408 Seat and plug CrNiMo steel Soft sealing EPDM, FPM, NBR or PTFE Seal Graphite with metallic core Actuator Diaphragm cases 1.4301 Diaphragm EPDM, FPM or NBR Table 3 · KVS coefficients and max. perm. differential pressures Nominal size Standard version DN 15 4 DN 20 6.3 DN 25 8 DN 32 16 DN 40 20 DN 50 32 3 Max. perm. differential pressures Dp KVS coefficients Special version Standard version Special version 1 · 2.5 10 bar 14 bar 10 16 4 bar 10 bar 8 bar T 2534 EN Dimensions H H1 L Type 2373 Pressure Reducing Valve Fig. 3 · Dimensions Table 4 · Dimensions in mm and weights in kg Type 2373 Pressure Reducing Valve Nominal size DN Length L Valve dimensions 0.8 to 2.5 bar 20 25 32 40 50 130 150 160 180 200 230 Height H1 55 mm Height H 560 mm Height H 560 mm Height H 560 mm Height H Weight in kg, approx. 560 mm 575 mm Æ D = 170 mm, A = 80 cm² Æ D = 170 mm, A = 80 cm² 19 20 20 23 26 29 Weights apply to regulators with a diaphragm area of A = 80 cm².
