 FCDE has succeeded in raising a new €200 million fund dedicated to the special situation segment. // A €200m fundraising oversubscribed and completed over a 9-­‐month period // Ongoing confidence of existing investors // The entry of significant new investors Paris, 8th June 2015-­‐ FCDE, Fonds de Consolidation et de Développement des Entreprises, has announced the raising of a new €200 million fund, FCDE II. With contributions from the main financial institutions in France (Bpifrance, banks and insurance companies), FCDE II fund aims at investing in SME and mid-­‐cap companies that show strong potential but whose growth is restrained by factors of complexity. FCDE II intends to invest equity stakes from €5m to €25m. in order to take up minority or majority positions by injecting new money in and/or purchasing shares of target companies. This new fund raising consolidates the positioning of FCDE as leader of special situation investment in France, with a 30% market share in the small/mid cap segment. FCDE has accomplished 17 transactions over five years (companies with a turnover of between €20m and €300m) and has already returned more than €116m to its investors. In December 2014, FCDE was nominated the “Best French Turnaround Investor 2014” by Private Equity Exchange & Awards. Benoît Sellam, managing partner at FCDE declared: “We are very pleased to have succeeded in raising this new fund which confirms the relevance of our positioning. Our existing investors such as Bpifrance, BNP Paribas, AXA, Allianz or AG2R La Mondiale have absorbed 70%, of the raising, expressing their strong confidence in us. The remaining 30% has been taken up by a consortium of 6 new investors: the EIF, Natixis Private Equity, Pactinvest, Malakoff Mederic, Amundi and Swen Capital Partners. During the financial crisis, he led the rescuing and restructuring of thirty or so industrial groups in various sectors (aeronautics, food processing industry, motor industry, capital goods and transport) He was also responsible for financing and developing companies for the French Treasury. Previously, Benoît SELLAM was insurance commissioner/auditor for the Commission de Contrôle des Assurances and manager at the AMF Autorité des marchés financiers (French SEC). He was educated at Ecole Polytechnique,is an engineer of the “Corps des Mines”, and graduated from ENSAE. Pierre Taillardat, Partner Pierre TAILLARDAT founded Sophia Euro Lab in 2001, a venture technology fund merged with Techfund in 2006. During this period he monitored companies such as Seemage, Miyowa, Open Plug, Lumilog, RSI and Solaire Direct. Previously he founded and managed Ernst and Young’s corporate finance business in the Mediterranean region. He was also a risk analyst for the Bank Indosuez for Asia and the United States and following that, was responsible for a portfolio of mid-­‐cap companies (Eurocopter, Bourbon, Onet etc). He began his career as an engineer at Procter and Gamble. Pierre TAILLARDAT was educated at the Ecole Nationale des Arts et des Métiers Paris Tech and the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris. Amélie Brossier, Partner Amélie BROSSIER was previously Investment Director at the FSI (French sovereign fund) which she joined in 2009. She was in charge of the investment in Dailymotion and as such she contributed to the industrial merger between Dailymotion and Orange in April 2011. Previously, she was Investment Director at Cinven which she joined in 2000. She carried out investments for Cinven in Numericable/Completel, Ziggo , Eutelsat, Aprovia/Medimedia and Générale de Santé. Amélie BROSSIER is an independent administrator of the company Gérard Perrier Industries .She previously worked for Paribas in mergers and acquisitions, after having started her career at Bain & Company. Amélie BROSSIER graduated from HEC.
