Halifax Public Libraries
For more than four hundred years,
Acadians past and present have
made significant contributions to
the culture, language and history
of the Maritimes. Between 16051775, their way of life, language
and culture spread from a small
French settlement at Port Royal,
to villages and communities
throughout Nova Scotia, New
Brunswick, and Prince Edward
Island. Acadians prospered until
tensions between the British and
French governments forced them
into exile to the United States,
Prince Edward Island, northern
New Brunswick, or back to
Acadienne de Clare, by Edith Comeau
Tufts. [s.l.], Tufts, 1977.
