`dance from the East`, and has its roots in Middle Eastern fertility
Shows
"Raqs Sharqi" means 'dance from the East', and has its roots in Middle Eastern fertility
ceremonies - a dance performed by women for women.
Today, 'belly dancing' is enjoying a renewed popularity in the West, and has even been
performed by pop artist Shakira who claims Lebanese heritage in her live performances and
videos.
This dance is characterized by intricate hip movements, and incorporates many techniques from
many different parts of the Middle East. Each country has its own, unique style.
Uniquely designed for the female body, "Raqs Sharqi" in all Middle Eastern cultures is an
expression of inner awareness. And it's in this warm atmosphere that the restaurant's Le
Socrate is pleasured to welcome you every Friday evening during a dinner show "Tarab"
and
every Saturday night
at a dinner show "Oriental dance"
to live a dream worthy of One Thousand and One Nights ...
