Note by the Secretary-General
Addendum
1.
In accordance with article 17, paragraph 4, of the Convention on the Elimination
of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, the Secretary-General invited the States
parties to the Convention to submit their nominations by 9 March 2010 for the election
of 11 members of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women.
Information on 20 persons nominated is contained in CEDAW/SP/2012/2. Seven
additional nominations have been received, as follows: Lawrence William Musonda
(Zambia), Muna AbuSulayman (Saudi Arabia), Fatou Kiné Camara (Senegal), Sarah Al
Sharji (Oman), Virginie Sheryl Nicole N’Dessabeka (Congo), Mabruka Sheriff Jabril
Maidani (Libya), Ms. Sawsan Al-Barrak.

The curricula vitae of the above-mentioned candidates, as furnished by their
Governments, are attached (see annex).

In a note dated 10 April 2012, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of
Botswana to the United Nations informed the Secretariat of the decision of its
Government to withdraw the nomination of Unity Dow as a candidate for election to the
Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women.

In a note dated 27 April 2012, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Zambia
to the United Nations informed the Secretariat of the decision of its Government to
withdraw the nomination of Mr. Lawrence William Musonda as a candidate for election
to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women.

Principales activités professionnelles :
Le caractère pluridisciplinaire de ma formation de même que mon engagement dans le
monde associatif m’ont permis de prendre une part significative dans l’élaboration et la
gestion de projet dans les domaines de la gouvernance et de la gestion d’entreprise. Aussi, à
côté de mon activité principale qui est celle d’enseigner, j’ai l’opportunité de pouvoir
exercer des fonctions de rédacteur dans le cadre d’une équipe et de conseil en veille
juridique des entreprises et autres personnes morales de droit public comme de droit privé.
Etudes :
De formation essentiellement juridique axée sur le Droit comparé, je peux aborder
différentes branches du droit liées au Droit des personnes et au Droit des organismes tant
sur le plan national qu’international. Je prépare actuellement une thèse sur l’influence du
Droit dans le processus d’élaboration d’un Etat à travers l’exemple des modes d’extinction
du lien conjugal en République du Congo.
Autres activités principales dans le domaine intéressant le mandat du Comité pour
l’élimination de la discrimination à l’égard des femmes:
Très active depuis bientôt douze (12) ans au sein de l’Association des Femmes Juristes du
Congo dont l’objet est principalement la sauvegarde et la promotion des droits humains de
la femme et de l’enfant. Membre, depuis 2009, du Conseil de la Fédération Internationale
des Femmes des Carrières juridiques ayant en charge la commission santé. Première
Secrétaire du Forum des Femmes des Grands Lacs Section Congo, depuis 2011. Ce Forum
est un organe de la Conférence Internationale des Pays de la Région des Grands Lacs et il a
pour principale mission de plaider et d’effectuer du lobbying pour les questions spécifiques
relatives aux femmes dans le Pacte de la Conférence et d’autres instruments régionaux et
internationaux relatifs aux droits des femmes.

human rights which stated on in the two international economic and political covenants,
aiming to specified the kind of job or the measure that must be taken to determinate and
find out the gaps between the criterions that globally agreed upon and that stated through
legislations(national)or between the local criterions and who to apply it actually.

implement work plan of Monitoring Performance and Rights Protection Directorate.
