13th Guignolée du Dr Julien: A Record-Breaking $1.6
Million Raised for Fondation du Dr Julien

The 13th Guignolée du Dr Julien was a resounding success, raising $1,643,000 in support of the
three centres run by Fondation du Dr Julien (CPSC Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, CPSC Côte-desNeiges and Garage à musique). These funds will enable the Fondation to continue offering quality
professional services to vulnerable children and their families.
This was even more than the $1,455,000 raised by the Guignolée du Dr Julien in 2014.
"I was overjoyed to see that 80% of the funds raised by Fondation du Dr Julien through its
guignolée came from individuals, proving once again that our mission has broad support from
the population. This support is essential to achieving our goal of providing services to the 20,000
vulnerable children in Quebec by 2021," declared Dr. Gilles Julien, founder and president of
Fondation du Dr Julien.
The success of the Guignolée du Dr Julien is due in large part to the dedication and hard work
of volunteers. The Fondation would like to thank all of these individuals and its many community
partners, in particular those who took part in its media campaign: Joël Le Bigot and the whole
team at Samedi et Rien d'Autre, which broadcast live from the Guignolée on ICI Radio-Canada
Première; the Guignolée's spokespersons, Ève Christian and Christian Bégin; and Jean-Charles
Lajoie and his team at 91.9 Sport FM. The Fondation would also like to thank Groupe Jean Coutu
for their donation of $50,000 to the Guignolée's Wheel of Fortune on Facebook, and TELUS for
its contribution of $10,000 through the text-to-donate campaign.
Other community social pediatrics centres certified by the Fondation du Dr Julien also held their
own guignolées on December 12th. In total, these guignolées raised $525,000. Each centre will
use the funds it raised to provide professional services to vulnerable children in their community.
