Cas ➀: il y a plusieurs absents : Today there are 2 absentees, Bart & Lisa are absent / away /
missing today. Maybe they’re sick in bed / too lazy to come.
Cas ➁: il y a un absent : Ok, today there is one absentee, Maggie is absent / away / missing.
Maybe she is late / maybe her bus is late...
Cas ➂: il y n’y a pas d’absent : Ok, today nobody is absent / away / missing.
