Greetings from the University of Toronto Dermatology Program
August 2014
Greetings from the University of Toronto Dermatology
Program
Farheen Mussani, MD (PGY4), Brittany Waller, MD (PGY3) and Tiffany Parsons, MD (PGY2)
The 2013-2014 academic year concluded with the Canadian Dermatology Association Annual
Conference in Toronto. The meeting brought attendees from all across North America and made
for four days of research, professional development and camaraderie. We hope you all enjoyed the
conference as much as we did!
It is also with much joy and excitement that we congratulate all of the
University of Toronto Dermatology PGY5s on the successful completion of
their Royal College Examinations. We would like to wish Dr. Rachel Asiniwasis,
Dr. Aaron Drucker, Dr. Phil Doiron, Dr. Ibrahim Fayez, Dr. Lara Gunton, Dr.
Nicole Hawkins, Dr. Carrie Lynde and Dr. Kim Tran luck on their future
endeavors as they begin their dermatology careers across the country.
In addition, we would also like to extend a warm welcome to eight new residents who have joined
our program: Dr. Michael Cecchini, Dr. Jaclyn Linzon-Smith, Dr. Anjali Papneja, Dr. Gustavo Rubio
Gomez, Dr. David Tsoulis, Dr. Yulia Velykoredo, Dr. Kirsten Walker and Dr. Daniel Wong.
Our sincerest congratulations also go out to Dr. Leah Kincaid (PGY3) on her recent marriage.
With personal engagements, interesting research endeavors, ongoing clinical duties and
international elective pursuits, this time of year proves to be busy and exciting for all of the
dermatology residents at the University of Toronto!
The 2014-2015 academic session began with the annual department Welcome Breakfast and
residents will soon depart for their retreat with lectures and workshops focusing on the challenges
and rewards of rural dermatology. This academic year is brimming with educational sessions and
opportunities and we look forward to having the Toronto Psoriasis Day and the Pediatric
Dermatology Update 2014 to kick things off in the very near future.
A big thank you to all of the attending staff, residents and support personnel who always strive to
make this program a success and truly one to be proud of. We wish all of you a wonderful year and
continued success,
