Résumé:
Sabine Weiss est la dernière photographe humaniste vivante. Photographe free-lance, elle a travaillé tout
comme Robert Doisneau, Izis et Ronis pour l’agence Rapho.
Elle est l’une des seules femmes photographes françaises qui, dans les années 50, a réussi à vivre de son
métier et de son art.
Aujourd’hui, elle continue à faire des photos, s’adaptant à l’évolution des nouvelles technologies. Pas de
nostalgie dans son travail, elle est le témoin de son temps comme elle l’a toujours été depuis plus de 60
ans.
Le film se propose de suivre un parcours chronologique, présentant le travail de cette artiste funambule
oscillant entre papier glacé, paillettes et « poétique de l’engagement» témoignant de l’état du Paris
d’après-guerre jusqu’à nos jours.
Sabine Weiss is the last living humanist photographer. As a Freelance, she worked as Robert Doisneau and
Ronis Izis for the Rapho agency. She is one of the few french women photographers who in the 50's has
managed to live from her work and art herself.
Today, she continues to take pictures, adapting to the evolution of new tenchnologies. There is no
nostalgia in her work, she is the witness of her time, as she has been for over 60 years.
The film intends to follow a chronological path, with the work of this tightrope walker artist fluctuating
between glossy paper, glitter and "poetic of commitment" reflecting the state of Paris from post-war to
nowadays.
