The Faculty of Sciences jointly with the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva wishes to fill
a position of
Full or Associate PROFESSOR
in the area of fundamental pharmacology-toxicology
TASKS : The successful candidate of this full-time position will be in charge of teaching at the
Bachelor, Master and postgraduate level in the area of pharmacology and toxicology, as well as the
direction of Master’s and PhD theses.
The successful candidate will develop his/her research at the national and international level and
seek to obtain exterior funding in the field of experimental pharmacology-toxicology, including i) the
development of pertinent and predictive in vitro and in vivo models enabling to make a better link
between preclinical and clinical studies of disease and drugs; ii) the development of quantitative
pharmacology enabling to perform system pharmacology. His/her research should be within one of
the three key therapeutic areas of the School of pharmaceutical sciences namely neglected diseases,
cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.
He/She will be involved in the management and organisation of the School of pharmaceutical
sciences and the Faculty of sciences.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, MD or MD PhD or equivalent.
A strong track record of post-doctoral research.
Experience in management of research groups and in teaching.
A strong track record in acquiring external funding.
Publications in international, peer-reviewed journals.

CHARGE : Il s’agit d’un poste à charge complète comprenant des enseignements aux niveaux
Bachelor, Master et post-grade en pharmacologie et toxicologie fondamentale ainsi que la
direction de travaux de maîtrise universitaire et de thèses de doctorat. Les candidats nonfrancophones devraient être capables d’enseigner en français après une période d’adaptation.
Le-la candidat-e sera appelé-e à développer des recherches dans le domaine pharmaceutique clé de la
pharmacologie-toxicologie fondamentale au niveau national et international et obtenir des
financements extérieurs. Ceci inclut i) le développement de modèle in vitro et in vivo pertinent et
prédictif permettant de faire un meilleur lien entre les études précliniques et cliniques des maladies
et des médicaments ; ii) le développement de la pharmacologie quantitative permettant une
approche de pharmacologie des systèmes (system pharmacology) dans un des domaines
thérapeutiques prioritaires à la Section des sciences pharmaceutiques soit les maladies négligées, le
cancer ou les maladies neurodégénératives.
Il-elle devra également assumer des tâches de gestion et d’organisation au niveau de la Section des
sciences pharmaceutiques et de la Faculté des sciences.
TITRE ET EXPERIENCES EXIGES
Doctorat ès sciences pharmaceutiques, MD ou MD PhD ou titre jugé équivalent. Une recherche de
pointe au niveau Postdoctoral. Le-la candidat-e doit avoir fait preuve de ses capacités à acquérir des
fonds externes. Expérience de direction de recherche et d’enseignement. Publications dans des revues
internationales à comité de lecture.
