Slovak Republic: Direct link to CDCP, new account and new Tax Agent status
Effective settlement date
27 June 2011
Clearstream Banking1 (CBL) will deposit assets and settle all transactions in Slovak securities eligible
with the Slovak Central Securities Depository Centralny depozitar cennych papierov SR, a.s (CDCP) in
our own Holder’s Account 990000000183.
This account structure, which will continue to be operated by our agent Ceskoslovenska obchodna banka,
Bratislava (CSOB), will enable future service upgrades in light of the following new circumstances:
• The nominee concept will be recognised within the omnibus account. The possibility to apply tax
relief will depend on the status and residency of the final beneficial owners of the securities.
• CBL will act as Withholding Tax Agent in the Slovak Republic.
• Subject to European Central Bank’s link assessment, the direct account at CDCP may allow the
use of Slovak government debt securities as collateral in CBL for monetary policy operations.
Impact on customers
• The settlement process for customers (settlement timings, instruction formats, reporting and
service level) will not change.
• During the cut-over weekend, pending provisioned and released domestic customer instructions
in Slovak securities will automatically be cancelled and re-entered by our agent to our Holder’s
Account 990000000183 in CDCP: no action will be required from the customer.
• Revised disclosure requirements will be published in due course.
• Holding and transaction restrictions will remain as currently described in the Market Profile.
• Domestic transactions for transfer of collateral for monetary policy operations with the National
Bank of Slovakia (NBS) will remain possible.
• CBL will act as Withholding Tax Agent in the Slovak Republic, with the following impacts:
− For dividend payments on equities and for the redemption of bonds, no change: a withholding
tax rate of 0% will continue to apply; no action will be required from the customer.
− For government, corporate, mortgage (bank) and municipal debt securities: a withholding tax
rate of 19% will be applied by default, with relief at source, quick refund or standard refund2
available depending on the tax status and residency of the final beneficial owner.

République slovaque : lien direct avec CDCP, nouveau compte et nouveau
statut d'Agent fiscal
À compter de la date de dénouement du
27 juin 2011,
Clearstream Banking1 (CBL) va déposer les actifs et dénouer toutes les transactions en titres slovaques
éligibles auprès du Dépositaire central des titres slovaques Centralny depozitar cennych papierov SR,
a.s (CDCP) sur son propre Compte de détenteur 990000000183.
Cette structure de compte, qui sera toujours exploitée par notre agent Ceskoslovenska obchodna banka,
Bratislava (CSOB), permettra d'améliorer des services à la lumière des nouvelles circonstances
suivantes :
• Le concept de 'nominee' sera reconnu au sein du compte omnibus. La possibilité de demande
d'exonération fiscale sera fonction du statut et de la résidence des bénéficiaires effectifs finaux
des titres.
• CBL agira en qualité d'Agent de retenue fiscale en République slovaque.
• Sous réserve d'évaluation du lien par la Banque Centrale Européenne, le compte direct auprès
de CDCP peut autoriser l'utilisation des obligations d'État slovaques comme garantie, en
Clearstream Banking, dans le cadre des opérations de politique monétaire.
Impact pour les clients
• Les processus de dénouement pour les clients (horaires de dénouement, formats d'instruction,
reporting et niveau de service) ne changeront pas.
• Au cours du week-end de transition, les instructions domestiques des clients provisionnées et
relâchées mais toujours en suspens dans des titres slovaques seront automatiquement
annulées et saisies à nouveau par notre agent sur notre Compte de détenteur 990000000183 en
CDCP : aucune action du client ne sera nécessaire.
• Les exigences de divulgation révisées seront publiées en temps opportun.
• Les restrictions de détention et de transaction restent telles que décrites dans le Profil Marché.
• Les transactions domestiques de transfert de collatéral pour des opérations de politique
monéraire avec la Banque nationale de Slovaquie (NBS) resteront possibles.
• CBL agira en qualité d'Agent de retenue fiscale en République slovaque, ce qui aura les impacts
suivants :
 Pour les paiements de dividende sur les actions et le remboursement des obligations, pas de
changement : un taux de retenue fiscale de 0 % continuera à s'appliquer et aucune action ne
sera nécessaire de la part du client.
 Pour les obligations d'Etat, d'entreprise, hypothèques (banques) et créances municipales : un
taux de retenue fiscale de 19% s'appliquera par défaut, avec retenue à la source, et un
remboursement rapide ou standard2 sera proposé en fonction du statut fiscal et de la
résidence du bénéficiaire effectif final.

Slowakische Republik: Direkter Link zu CDCP, neues Konto und Status als
Tax Agent
Mit Wirkung vom Abwicklungsdatum
27. Juni 2011
wird Clearstream Banking1 (CBL) die Verwahrung von Wertpapieren sowie die Abwicklung von
Transaktionen, die beim slowakischen Zentralverwahrer Centralny depozitar cennych papierov SR, a.s
(CDCP) zugelassen sind, über unser eigenes Inhaberkonto 990000000183 vornehmen.
Das Konto wird weiterhin von unserem Agent Ceskoslovenska obchodna banka, Bratislava (CSOB)
betrieben. Aufgrund der nachstehend beschriebenen Umstände können wir in Zukunft verbesserte
Dienstleistungen anbieten:
• Das Treuhänderkonzept wird innerhalb des Sammelkontos anerkannt. Die Beantragung von
Steuerbefreiungen wird vom Status und Wohnort der Endbegünstigten der Wertpapiere
abhängen.
• CBL wird in der Slowakischen Republik als Agent für den Einzug der Kapitalertragssteuer
fungieren.
• Vorbehaltlich der Beurteilung der Europäischen Zentralbank könnte das direkte Konto bei CDCP
die Hinterlegung von Schuldverschreibungen der slowakischen Regierung als Sicherheiten bei
CBL für geldmarktpolitische Geschäfte erlauben.
Auswirkung auf Kunden
• Der Abwicklungsprozess (Abwicklungszeiten, Instruktionsformate, Reporting sowie
Dienstleistungsniveau) bleibt für Kunden unverändert.
• Während des Einführungswochenendes werden eingedeckte und freigegebene
Kundeninstruktionen für slowakische Wertpapiere automatisch storniert und von unserem
Agenten neu gegen unser Inhaberkonto 990000000183 bei CDCP eingegeben; seitens der
Kunden sind keine Maßnahmen erforderlich.
• Überarbeitete Offenlegungsanforderungen werden zu gegebener Zeit veröffentlicht.
• Die Bestands- und Transaktionsbeschränkungen bleiben unverändert wie derzeit im Marktprofil
beschrieben.
• Inländische Transaktionen zur Übertragung von Sicherheiten für geldmarktpolitische Geschäfte
mit der Nationalbank der Slowakei (NBS) werden weiterhin möglich sein.
• CBL wird in der Slowakischen Republik als Agent für den Einzug der Kapitalertragssteuer
fungieren. Das hat die folgenden Auswirkungen:
 Keine Änderungen gibt es bei Dividendenzahlungen für Aktien sowie bei der Rückzahlung von
Anleihen: es gilt weiterhin ein Kapitalertragssteuersatz von 0 % und Kunden müssen keine
Maßnahmen ergreifen.

 Bei Staats-, Unternehmens-, Hypotheken- (Bank) und Kommunalanleihen wird ein
Standardkapitalertragssteuersatz von 19 % erhoben. Eine Quellensteuervorabbefreiung, eine
zügige Rückerstattung oder eine Standardrückerstattung1 sind je nach Steuerstatus und
Wohnort des Endbegünstigten verfügbar.
Auswirkung auf inländische Kontrahenten
Inländische Kontrahenten werden weiterhin ein Pre-Matching der Abwicklungsinstruktionen mit CSOB
durchführen. Kunden sollten ihre Kontrahenten über die zusätzlichen Angaben informieren, die in ihren
Abwicklungsinstruktionen im Zusammenhang mit dem Inhaberkonto von CBL bei CDCP anzugeben
