UBIFRANCE and the French Pavilion at BAUMA 2013 Munich – 15
UBIFRANCE and the French Pavilion at BAUMA 2013 Munich – 15 to 21 April 2013 Press Pack 1 France’s construction industry puts its innovations on show at BAUMA MUNICH 2013 Over 30 French businesses will be on hand to showcase their technology and know-how at the BAUMA trade show, the 30th of its kind, to be held in Munich (Germany) from 15 to 21 April 2013. BAUMA is the trade event of reference for professionals from the building, public-works and mining industries. The French businesses will be attending as part of a national pavilion organized by UBIFRANCE, the French export-support agency. BAUMA, a key industry event held every three years, is both the sector’s largest trade show and an essential meeting place for representatives of the international building and public-works industry. In 2010 (i.e. last time it was held), BAUMA covered 555,000 square metres and attracted over 420,000 visitors from 200 countries, as it enabled 3,250 exhibitors to showcase their technologies, products and services: it can be said that BAUMA 2010 shattered all previous records. Traditionally, every aspect of the building and public-works sector is represented at the Munich trade fair, so that the event offers a perfect opportunity to learn about the most advanced technologies in the field and to capitalize on this privileged access to fast-moving global markets and industry trends. In 2013, BAUMA, which is taking place from 15 to 21 April of this year in Munich (Southern Germany), is likely to present a contrasted picture, with a subdued mood prevailing among manufacturers of construction equipment, given the current economic climate in Europe, while other markets continue to present considerable growth potential. The European market is projected to shrink by about 10% across all equipment sectors (earthworks, road construction, lifting, quarries, etc.), with some variation by country and product. However, the USA, South America, Russia, Turkey and Asia should remain buoyant. Elsewhere, markets are likely to be relatively slack. Since the price of raw materials is fairly stable, the market for mining and quarrying equipment is expected to remain stable. On the other hand, numerous projects that require tunnelling machinery (urban underground mass-transit projects, motorways, etc.) are under way or in the works in various countries, which should sustain the sector. In 2011, according to France’s National Federation of Public Works (FNTP), the public-works sector included 8,020 businesses, with 259,150 employees. The turnover generated by the sector was in excess of €62 billion, with €40.5 billion in sales originating in France and €22.9 billion in exportrelated activities. After two consecutive years of decline for French-based players, levels of activity held steady on external markets, in 2011, but regional conditions varied sharply worldwide. The primary asset of French companies is their engineering know-how, which enables them to submit comprehensive proposals that encompass infrastructure design, construction and operation. French companies also boast an impressive capacity to operate in multiple fields — not just transport and engineering infrastructure, but also projects relating to mining, energy, water and the environment — so that they can maintain their profile internationally and compete successfully with the best players worldwide. 2 Spanning a total of 882 square metres (359 square metres inside Halls C3 and A3, with additional outdoor space of 523 square metres in Areas F11 and F12), the French national pavilion at BAUMA will bring together companies offering a representative sample of what is available across France’s construction and public-works industry. Innovation will be in the spotlight with a complete line of construction equipment and services, from concrete production machinery and construction equipment, form balloon lighting, depth-control systems and dust-removal solutions to hydraulic jacks, scaffolding systems and construction shelters. Vehicles and machinery for the building sector and public works will also be represented, as will heating and climate-control solutions, high-performance anti-collision systems, and a driving simulator for training. The following companies will be on the French Pavilion (see below for company profiles), and further details about exhibitors can be provided on request: ACREOS SIMULATION, AGS, AIRMEEX SA, AMCS TECHNOLOGIES, ARCURE, ARGUMAT CBS, ARIADIS, ATTEC PRODUCTION, BRIDGIN UBEXI, CISMA, CNSE, ENTREPOSE MILLS INTERNATIONAL, EUROMAIR DISTRIBUTION, FORGEX RAGUET, FRANCE JOINT, HYDRAUMATEC ENGINEERING, IRIUM, LUMIAIR LIGHTING BALLOONS, MACHINERYZONE, METHOCAD-CBS (CREATIVE BUSINESS SOLUTIONS), PACLITE EQUIPMENT, RAM ENVIRONNEMENT, RIVARD SAS, SACATEC, SAHGEV, SATECO, SAUDEM, SERTA, SMIE, SNDC ECOCLIM, and STARTER.
