L’œuvre de Jordi Colomer utilise la fiction comme une incitation pour
le spectateur à participer et suggère d’inventer de nouvelles manières
d›habiter l›espace public.Argos, Centre pour Art et Média présente What
Will Come, un triptyque filmique qui traite de la relation entre espace public et activité humaine. Tournés à Co-op City, Levittown et Montauk,
trois exemples classiques de la suburbia nord-américaine, chacun des
films s’articule autour d’un personnage qui rejoue sa propre activité. Sa
série d’affiches Crier sur les toits est aussi exposée. A la même période,
Argos propose Westerly Winds, une exposition solo de Ria Pacquée, et
dans la Black Box une projection intitulée Mise en abîme – Dismantling
the Economics of Television. Ce programme vidéo rassemble différentes
positions d’artistes adoptées pendant les années 1970 et ‘80 contre le
médium de la télévision et son omniprésence ou son populisme.

Het werk van Jordi Colomer gebruikt fictie om de toeschouwer aan te
sporen tot participatie en suggereert dat we nieuwe manieren moeten bedenken om de publieke ruimte te bewonen.Argos, Centrum voor Kunst
en Media presenteert What Will Come, een drieluik films dat de relatie
tussen stedelijke ruimte en menselijke activiteit behandelt. Gefilmd in
Co-op City, Levittown en Montauk, typische voorbeelden van NoordAmerikaanse voorsteden, draait elk werk rond een personage dat zijn eigen
bezigheden naspeelt. Ook te zien is zijn affichereeks Crier sur les toits. In
dezelfde periode brengt Argos Westerly Winds, een solotentoonstelling van
Ria Pacquée, terwijl in Black Box Mise en abîme – Dismantling the Economics
of Television loopt. Dat videoprogramma verzamelt verschillende kunstenaarsposities die tijdens de jaren 1970-‘80 ingingen tegen het medium van
de televisie, tegen de alomtegenwoordigheid en het populisme ervan.

Using fiction as an incitement to participate, the work of Jordi Colomer
suggests that we should invent new ways of inhabiting public space.
Argos, Centre for Art and Media presents What Will Come, a triptych
films that deals with the relationship between urban space and human
activity. Shot in Co-op City, Levittown and Montauk, typical examples of
North-American suburbia, each film articulates itself around a character
who re-enacts his own activity. His poster series Crier sur les toits is also on
show. Concurrently, the solo exhibition Westerly Winds by Ria Pacquée
is on display, while Black Box is screening Mise en abîme – Dismantling the
Economics of Television. This video program compiles the positions of different artists, which emerged during the 1970s and 80s, acting against
the medium of television, its all-embracing presence and populism.
