Dealing with the Olympic
Medallists
Following the example set by Belgium
and various other countries, the French
Olympic Committee is proposing to contribute to the organisation of an Association
of the Olympic Medallist.
The creation of an Union or an International Federation is actually under consideration.
This grouping consists of bringing together all those who have been first, second,
and third winners at the Olympic Games
and have been awarded a gold, silver or
bronze Medal.
Thus grouped in one Association it will
give the opportunity to keep in close touch
to all those who have worked succesfully
for sportive propaganda by contributing
to uphold the honour of their national
colours.
The contact thus maintained between
the « veterans » and the new winners will
happily contribute to the perpetuation of
Baron Pierre de Coubertin’s masterly work,
creating a lasting understanding between
the youth of the world bound in the pursuit
of the same ideal of Peace in sport and art.
A propos des médaillés
olympiques
Suivant l’exemple de la Belgique et de
divers autres pays, le Comité olympique
français se propose de contribuer à la formation d’une Association des médaillés
olympiques.
La création d’une Union ou Fédération
internationale est, en effet, envisagée.
Ce groupement consiste à réunir tous
ceux qui, ayant été classés premiers, deuxièmes ou troisièmes aux Jeux olympiques,
ont gagné une médaille d’or, d’argent ou de
bronze.
C’est là une occasion de chercher à ne
pas laisser perdre le contact entre tous ceux
qui ont œuvré avec succès pour la propagande sportive en contribuant au bon renom
de leurs couleurs nationales.
Le contact ainsi maintenu entre les
« anciens » du stade et les nouveaux triomphateurs contribuerait heureusement à perpétuer l’œuvre magistrale du Baron Pierre
de Coubertin souhaitant une entente durable
entre toute la jeunesse du monde communiant dans l’idéal pacifique du sport et de
l’art.
SUR LA TOMBE DE P. DE COUBERTIN
A l’occasion d’une visite qu’il a faite au
siège du C. I. O. à Lausanne, M. Kong
Visudharomna, membre du Comité olympique de Thaïland, a déposé une couronne
sur la tombe de Coubertin au nom de son
c o m i t é . L e D r Yvam Ossier, diplômé
olympique de Copenhague, est également
veun s’incliner sur la tombe à l’occasion
d’un récent passage à Lausanne.
ON COUBERTIN’S TOMB
On the occasion of his visit at the seat of
the I. O. C. at Lausanne, M. Kong Visudharomna, member of the Olympic Committee
of Thailand, has laid down a wreath on
Coubertin’s Tomb in the name of his
Committee. Dr Yvan Ossier (Olympic
diploma) from Copenhague has been also
on the tomb on the occasion of his recent
passage at Lausanne.
