Carte grise franaise - In exceptional condition - The archetypal English roadster - Very well prepared by Harper This "Big Healey" was purchased in 1989 by its current owner. It was previously in the hands of a collector in Var, who had acquired the car in 1980 from a Belgian enthusiast living in Uccle, a suburb of Brussels. This beautiful car has undergone a complete restoration, which was carried out in the garages of Harper and Alain Lefebvre in Bondoufle (a suburb of Paris), for a thorough body-off restoration, as evidenced by photos in the file that comes with the car. The mechanical bits were assigned to Harper, who are well known in the world of Healey and numerous bills attest to the thoroughness of the work carried out. The car has benefited from improvements that facilitates its use and provides better performance, such as an enhanced overdrive, a more powerful starter and the installation of three 45 DCOE Weber carburetors. The car is equipped with 72 spoked wire wheels, a tonneau cover, side-screens, and a sports grille. An expert assessment from 1999, incidentally, described the car as being "in exceptional condition." Bills from 2009 and 2010 attest to the care taken by the current owner in the use of his automobile, with which he barely covered 6,000kms. This explains as to why, despite a ten-year-old restoration, the car has lost none of its luster. Powered by the classic 2.9 liter 6-cylinder, this Austin-Healey still retains the purity of the first generation car, though slightly tempered by improved comfort. In a presentation that is well above average, this Austin-Healey has become a strict two-seater, the roadster version, that remains the most popular with fans who appreciate the elegance of the car's timeless lines.
