PROFESSIONNAL FORMATION
Martine Gravel, who is of counsel to the MORENCY law firm, has been a
member of the Quebec Bar since 1987. She holds a Master’s degree
(1994) as well as a Doctorate Degree (2003) in law from Laval University.
PROFILE
She has been in private practice and has worked in the litigation department
of the Commission de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (Quebec Workers’
Compensation Board) in Quebec City, as well as in Trois-Rivières, where
she lives.
Her practice is mainly focused on representing, before
administrative tribunals and superior courts, employers and corporations
with problems relating to health or security at work/employment injuries.
She has been teaching public and administrative law (charters of
fundamental rights and freedoms, judicial review and legal remedies in
Quebec and federal public law) at the Quebec Bar School since 2000, and
has been teaching the Act respecting industrial accidents and occupational
diseases to preparatory classes and professional training groups. She also
lectures on topics in her areas of practice.
Me Gravel is a member of the Board of Referees (administrative appeals
tribunal for decisions from the Commission relating to employment
insurance benefits), which enabled her to develop very specific expertise on
the subject. In addition, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the
Trois-Rivières Port Authority.
