L’événement annuel s’est tenu de nouveau dans l’espace
caverneux de la gare Windsor. Dick Walsh a su créer une
ambiance prestigieuse, et réserver aux invités un accueil
avec tous les honneurs qui leur étaient dus. Le gala a
recueilli un montant record de 2,2 millions de dollars au
profit de la Société canadienne du cancer. Il a été organisé
par Alison Silcoff, qui y brillait dans une robe de soirée
en satin gris de Vera Wang. Le thème de la soirée était
Hollywood et les stars étaient partout. Des nappes lamées
d’or chatoyantes supportaient d’imposants arrangements
de jonquilles disposés par Yves Chénier. De très grandes
images d’Hollywood accueillaient les invités. Le souper a
été remarquable, arrosé de vins merveilleux offerts par
Carolyn et Richard Renaud.
Les personnalités suivantes assumaient la coprésidence : Thierry Vandal, président-directeur général
d’Hydro-Québec, accompagné d’Isabelle Phoenix;
Stéphan Crétier et son épouse Stephany Maillery ; et
Ned Goodman, président-directeur général de la Gestion
de patrimoine Dundee, à Toronto, accompagné de son
épouse Anita. Faisaient partie du monde chic : Suzanne
Tailleur avec son époux le maire Gérard Tremblay ; Solange
Dugas et Lucien Bouchard ; Janet et Hans Black ; Carol
et Yves Fortier ; Linda et Ian Greenberg ; Marie Anne
Tawil et Michel Vennat ; Lucie et Pierre Boivin ; ainsi que
Dominique Bertrand et Jacques Maurice. D’autres habitués des réceptions y ont été vus, à savoir : Monty Brewer,
président et chef de la direction d’Air Canada, accompagné
de son épouse Jamie ; Gretchen et Dick Evans, président et
chef de la direction d’Alcan ; Isabelle Marcoux, vice-présidente au développement de la Société Transcontinental,
accompagnée de François Olivier ; ainsi que Justin Trudeau,
accompagné de sa belle-mère Estelle Blais Gregoire.
Les cadeaux ont été offerts par Birks et Chanel.
L’animatrice était Sophie Durocher, accompagné de son
époux Richard Martineau. Elle portait une magnifique
robe de soirée brune de Marie Saint-Pierre. C’était une
soirée parsemée d’étoiles !!!
The annual Daffodil Ball was held once again in the
cavernous space at Windsor Station. But, wow, how that
space was transformed ! Uber décor-master Dick Walsh,
created a star-studded, over-the-top, red carpet mood.
Organized by Alison Silcoff, this year’s gala raised a record
$2.2 million for the Canadian Cancer Society. The theme
was Hollywood, and the stars were everywhere. Not only
did guests feel hugely important as ‘ paparazzi ’ crowded
the arrivals with flashing cameras, but sponsors were
‘ starred ’ with their names in, yes, stars. Shimmering gold
lamé tablecloths held towering daffodil arrangements created by Yves Chénier. Guests were greeted by huge images
of Hollywood. Dinner was outstanding, with wonderful
wines donated by Carolyn and Richard Renaud. Co-chairs
were Hydro-Québec president / CEO Thierry Vandal (with
Isabelle Phoenix); Stéphan Crétier with his wife Stephany
Maillery, and Toronto-based Dundee Wealth Management
president / CEO Ned Goodman with his wife Anita. The chic
included Suzanne Tailleur, with husband Mayor Gérard
Tremblay; Janet and Hans Black; Carol and Yves Fortier;
Linda and Ian Greenberg; Marie-Anne Tawil and Michel
Vennat, and Lucie and Pierre Boivin. Other beautiful party
goers noted were Suzanne Legge and Power Financial
president / CEO Jeffrey Orr; Jamie and Air Canada president / CEO Monty Brewer; Gretchen and Alcan president / CEO Dick Evans; Transcontinental vice-chair Isabelle
Marcoux with François Olivier, and Justin Trudeau with his
mother-in-law Estelle Blais-Gregoire. The evening’s emcee
was Sophie Durocher, with hubby Richard Martineau,
wearing a beautiful brown gown by Marie Saint Pierre. All
in all, a star-studded night.
