Bonjour
Cette semaine, mon bon ami, Martin Rahmann, l'actuel Président du FCSI EAME, m'a demandé vous parler un
peu de la prochaine Conférence FCSI EAME à Madrid en 2015. Martin, comme beaucoup d'entre vous le savez,
est très persuasif, alors je me réjouis de donner une couverture à la Conférence cette semaine !
EAME est ma « maison » mère et j'espère que vous n’y verrez pas d’inconvénient, mais je pense aussi que le
programme qui a été mis sur pied s’adresse à l'ensemble des membres du FCSI. Il y a littéralement, quelque
chose pour chacun d’entre vous.
Elle aura lieu à Madrid en Espagne du 26 au 29 mars 2015 dans l’Hotel Melia Castilla. La photo que vous
voyez dans ce message est la « Bandera de Madrid », le drapeau de la ville de Madrid, où figurent un ours et un
arbousier. Si vous voulez en savoir plus, il va falloir venir à Madrid !
Le site Web de la Conférence FCSI EAME est www.conference.fcsi.eu. S'il vous plaît prenez le temps de
regarder ce qui est proposé dans le programme. Il comprend des ateliers, la présentation du système BIM,
certains grands conférenciers et sujets, les prix FCSI EAME et beaucoup, beaucoup plus.
Il n'y a jamais eu un thème de Conférence aussi pertinent par rapport à la situation actuelle du Foodservice
Consultants Society International. « Jeunes Talents », le titre et le thème de la Conférence, mettent l'accent sur
les besoins de notre profession et sur le FCSI pour attirer et retenir les jeunes, pour faire progresser les «
consultants de demain » ; et pour célébrer les réussites professionnelles précoces avec le concours d'étudiants.
Nos membres partenaires seront également heureux d'entendre que le comité directeur EAME travaille dur pour
encourager les membres professionnels à y assister. En outre le Conseil d'administration FCSI Monde va se
réunir juste avant la Conférence dans le même hôtel. La Division FCSI EAME a également organisé la traduction
simultanée pour que la Conférence soit en anglais, en français, en allemand et en italien. En bref, il n'y a aucune
raison de ne pas y aller !
Et si ce n'est pas encore assez pour vous tenter, les vols pour Madrid sont très bon marchés, car c'est une
plaque tournante internationale et les températures seront agréablement chaudes et douces. Ajoutez à cela les
animations et le programme des accompagnants, les visites d'étude et les soirées et vous devriez tous vous
précipiter pour réserver.
Mais plus sérieusement, j'espère vraiment que vous pourrez dégager du temps dans vos agendas bien remplis
pour participer à la conférence et pour développer vos propres compétences et connaissances en même temps.
Je ne sais que trop bien combien il est difficile de trouver le juste milieu entre les clients et le « FCSI. » Mais je
sais que participer à la Conférence en vaut la peine. Vous pourrez même me voir danser !

Good afternoon.
This week, I have been asked by my good friend, Martin
Rahmann FCSI, the current FCSI EAME Chair, to tell you a
little bit about the upcoming FCSI EAME conference in
Madrid in 2015. Martin is, as many of you know, very
persuasive, so I am delighted to give the conference some
coverage this week!
As EAME is my “home” Division, I hope you don’t mind the
indulgence, but I also think that the programme that has
been put together is well worth telling the whole
membership about. There is, literally, something for everybody.

It is being held in Madrid, Spain on 26 – 29 March 2015 at the Melia Castilla Hotel. The image in the
message this week is the “Bandera de Madrid”, the flag of the City of Madrid, which depicts a bear and a
strawberry tree. If you want to know more, you must come to Madrid!
The FCSI EAME Conference website is www.conference.fcsi.eu. Please take a good look at what is on offer
as the programme includes workshops, A BIM presentation, some great speakers and topics, the FCSI EAME
Awards and much, much more.
There has never been a conference theme that is more relevant for where we are in the Foodservice Consultants
Society International today. “Young Talents,” the title and theme for the conference, focuses on the needs of our
industry and the FCSI to attract and retain young people, to develop the “consultants of tomorrow”; and to
celebrate in their early career success with the Student Competition.
Our Allied members will also be pleased to hear that the EAME Board is working very hard to encourage
Professional Members to attend. In addition the Worldwide Board will be holding their meeting just before the
conference at the same hotel. The FCSI EAME Division has also arranged for simultaneous translation so that the
whole conference will be in English, French, German and Italian. In short, there is no reason not to go!
But if that still isn’t enough to tempt you, the flights are remarkably cheap to Madrid, as it is an international hub
and the weather will be pleasantly warm and mild. Add to that the social and partner programme, the study tours
and the evening events and you should all be rushing to book.
But seriously, I very much hope that you can find the time in your busy diaries to attend the event and to develop
your own skills and knowledge at the same time. I know, only too well, how difficult it is to balance project work,
with “FCSI.” But I know attending the conference will be well worth it. You may even see me dancing!
