themselves by effacing their individualism so
they conform to society's expectations,“ Mr.

Peu de boursiers de la Fondation de la
mode de Montréal peuvent se targuer de
revenir au pays avec un stage de 9 mois chez un
designer aussi réputé que le Londonien Hussein
Chalayan, de voir une de ses créations publiées
dans le Vogue britannique ou d'avoir complété
ses études de baccalauréat au London College
of Fashion du University of the Arts de Londres
avec un tollé d’éloges et d’honneur.
Né à Hong Kong, il immigre au Canada
où il vit le choc culturel de sa vie. Passionné par
l’architecture, la photographie, la musique et la
mode, Lincoln devient rapidement une star des
écoles de mode canadiennes, au Collège LaSalle
en particulier, où il remportera une myriade de
prix de design avant de voir son talent récompensé par le jury de la Fondation de la mode de
Montréal.
Lincoln Cheung est certainement tout
un phénomène qui refuse de voir les formes
comme tout le monde. « Trop souvent, les gens
s’astreignent à changer leur particularité pour
se conformer aux attentes de la société, dit-il. Il
suffit d’un peu d’imagination pour transformer
le plus simple des vêtements et le réinventer…
changer des composantes traditionnelles pour
leur donner une nouvelle identité. »
