Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Dear Brothers/Sisters:
I am pleased to report that 2013 was again a record setting year for Local 586 Ottawa. The man hour
total of 2,575,000 eclipsed last year's all time high number of 2,214,000 hours, which represents a
13% increase. This is testimony to the hard work of both our signatory contractors and you the
members of Local 586. I am very proud of the accomplishments which I, your Business Manager, have
been able to achieve while representing our members along with my entire office staff. There is a
real sense of pride when we are tasked with helping different members in a vast number of individual
situations.
Over the past 12 months we have organized ten new electrical contractors. My goal will be to
continue this trend in 2014. With every new union contractor, we create employment opportunities
for our members. With every new contractor we also increase our market share in a highly
competitive electrical construction industry.
I encourage every member to work to the best of their ability, in a safe and efficient manner. Thank
you all for your continued support.

Cher confrères et sœurs,
C’est avec plaisir que je vous rapporte que l’année 2013 a été une autre année record pour la
Section locale 586 d’Ottawa. Le total d’heures travaillées de 2 575 000 a éclipsé notre total
record de 2012 de 2 214 000 heures, ce qui représente une hausse de 13 p. cent. Ce résultat
fait hommage à l’excellent travail de nos entrepreneurs signataires et à celui des membres de
la Section locale 586. Je suis très fière de ce que mon personnel et moi-même avons réussi à
accomplir au nom de nos membres. Nous éprouvons une vraie fierté lorsque nous
entreprenons la tâche d’aider nos membres dans plusieurs situations qui leur sont spécifiques.
Au courant des derniers 12 mois, nous avons organisé dix entrepreneurs du domaine de
l’électricité. Mon objectif est de continuer à suivre cette tendance en 2014. Chaque nouvel
entrepreneur syndiqué signifie davantage d’opportunités de travail pour nos membres. Avec
chaque nouvel entrepreneur, nous augmentons aussi nos parts de marché dans une industrie
de la construction électrique très compétitif. J’encourage tous nos membres à faire de leur
mieux et à travailler de façon sécuritaire et efficace. Nous vous remercions de votre appui
continuel.
