LRA's Okello capture good for regional peace - AU
APA-Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) The African Union Commission has said the capture of Lord’s
Resistance Army Commander, Lt. Charles Okello, would reduce attacks on civilians in
conflict ridden Central African Republic (CAR) and the Democratic Republic of Congo
(DRC). The African Union-led Regional Task Force (AU-RTF) troops in the Central African
Republic (CAR), captured Okello on Monday, April 21, near the West of River Kotto, about
20km West of Bakuma in South-eastern part of CAR. The Commission, in a statement on
Wednesday, commended the RTF for the arrest, saying the development restore peace....

AU talks tough on S/Sudan killings
APA-Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) The African Union has used tough rhetoric to condemn the
killing of civilians in the South Sudanese town of Bentiu, describing it as a criminal act which
shall never be condoned. In a strongly worded statement on Wednesday, AU Chairperson, Dr
Dlamini Zuma said the recent killings and general deteriorating security and humanitarian
situation in South Sudan was worrying the continental body and demanded that rebels and
government troops end hostilities. An attack on civilians in Bentiu, Unity State, on April 15
left 200 civilians killed and more than 400 wounded as they were sheltering in a mosque.

Car explodes, killing four in Nairobi
Two police officers were among four people who were killed when a vehicle they were
escorting to Pangani Police Station in Kenya's capital Nairobi was blown up on Wednesday
night. The officers had been manning a road block a few kilometres from the station when
they intercepted the car and ordered the occupants to drive to the station for further
investigations. The vehicle exploded shortly after driving into the police station at around
8.50pm (local time). An explosive device in the vehicle was safely detonated by police.

Kenya : explosion d'une voiture devant un commissariat, crainte d'une attaque
terroriste
L’explosion d’une voiture devant le commissariat de Pangani dans la banlieue de Nairobi a
fait au moins quatre morts. Selon les autorités kényanes au moins deux policiers figurent
parmi les victimes. La voiture suspecte avait été interceptée par les agents. Ils emmenaient les
occupants pour interrogatoire lorsque le véhicule a explosé. Les démineurs ont procédé à
l’explosion contrôlée d’un engin quelques minutes plus tard. L’attaque n’a pas été clairement

Gunmen injure UNHCR worker in Kenya
Unknown gunmen in northern Kenya opened fire on a vehicle of aid workers for the UN
refugee agency (UNHCR) on Wednesday, injuring one. "I can confirm that this happened
today at 8:30 in the morning at [the] Hagadera Camp in Dadaab," UNHCR spokesman
Emmanuel Nyabera told Anadolu Agency. He said the Hagadera Camp was one of the many

have foiled an attack on their compound overnight on Tuesday, Garowe Online reports.
Beledweyne residents who woke up to the sounds of heavy gunfire confirmed that firefight
broke out between the attackers and Somali government soldiers at a police station in
Beledweyne’s Buundo Weyn neighborhood. Addressing media members in Beledweyne,

Darfur rebel leaders urge Security Council to investigate Unamid and amend mandate
DARFUR The Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), and the two factions of the Sudan
Liberation Movement, led by Abdel Wahid El Nur (SLM-AW) and Minni Minawi (SLMMM) on 17 April addressed the UN Security Council (UNSC) with the request to urgently
investigate accusations concerning the performance of Joint United Nations-African Union
Mission in Darfur (Unamid). The three Darfur armed movements today released the text of

"The foreign ministry condemns assassination of the Sudanese nationals in Bentiu and calls
for urgent investigation", the official SUNA news agency said in an SMS alert. The United

Ouganda-LRA : 10 otages libérés, un officier capturé
L’Armée de Résistance du Seigneur (LRA) semble plus que jamais sous pression. L’armée
ougandaise a annoncé mardi la libération de 10 otages détenus par la rébellion, ainsi que la
capture d’un officier subalterne, au terme d’une opération menée en Centrafrique. « Nous
avons capturé le lieutenant Charles Okello, un commandant opérationnel notoire de la LRA,
mais le plus important, c’est que nous avons libéré dix personnes, sept enfants et trois

La rébellion ougandaise LRA de Joseph Kony subit un important revers avec la capture

L’armée ougandaise a capturé mardi en Centrafrique un gros poisson. Il s’agit du lieutenant
Charles Okello, de l’armée de résistance du Seigneur (LRA), rébellion ougandaise sanguinaire
dirigée par Joseph Kony, recherché depuis lors par la Cour pénale internationale (CPI).
Visiblement, cette rébellion est en perte de vitesse depuis que l’armée ougandaise, appuyée
par une centaine de membres des forces spéciales américaines, mène la traque régionale
contre Joseph Kony et des principaux chefs de la LRA, dans la dense forêt des confins de la
Centrafrique, de la Rd Congo et du Soudan.

Cameroun : l'armée contre Boko Haram
Ce bouclage de la région frontalière intervient au lendemain d'une attaque attribuée au
mouvement extrémiste dans la localité d'Amchidé. Deux membres de la sécurité y avaient été
blessés par balle par des assaillants circulant sur une moto. Ils ont réussi à prendre la fuite.
Plusieurs suspects ont été appréhendés à la suite de cette attaque et sont actuellement en
exploitation dans les services compétents. Il y a quelques jours, deux prêtres italiens et une
religieuse canadienne ont été enlevés dans l'arrondissement de Meri. Depuis lors, on est sans
nouvelles d'eux.

Cameroun : 64 membres présumés de Boko Haram interpellés
Les forces de l’ordre et de défense camerounaises sont montées d’un cran dans leur
affrontement à distance avec la secte Boko Haram. Le 13 avril 2014, elles ont mené une
opération d’envergure dans la localité d’Amchidé où les éléments de la secte ont pris pied
depuis quelques années aujourd’hui. 64 éléments présumés de la secte ont été arrêtés pour être
interrogés. Au finish, 31 membres seulement ont été conduits à Maroua pour clarifier leur
situation. Les forces de l’ordre et de défense ont démontré que la ville d’Amchidé n’est pas
une zone de non droit.

Centrafrique : les forces de l'UA capturent un commandant de la LRA
Les forces de l'Union africaine (UA) ont capturé le commandant de l'Armée de résistance du
Seigneur (LRA) en République centrafrique, Charles Okello. Dans un communiqué publié
mercredi, l'UA a déclaré que Charles Okello avait été capturé par les troupes de la Force
régionale sous commandement de l'UA (AU-RTF) lundi dans le sud-est de la Centrafrique.
Au cours de la bataille, durant laquelle M. Okello a été capturé, les forces de l'AU-RTF ont
également sauvé trois femmes et sept enfants, et récupéré un pistolet mitrailleurs, trois fusils
de chasse, des munitions assorties à ces armes et une radio talkie-walkie, selon le

Vendredi dernier, à 6 h du matin, l'abbé Christ Forman Wilibona, 37 ans, a été tué par balles

Un militaire guinéen blessé lors d’une explosion au Nord-Mali

CAIRO: A police brigadier general was killed when a bomb exploded under his car on

Pakistan Bomb Kills Four, Including Ex-Police Officer
A bombing in Pakistan's port city of Karachi has killed four people, including a former police
officer. Local police officer Nasir Lodhi told RFE/RL's Radio Mashaal that the bomb, which
targeted ex-officer Shafiq Tanoli, exploded on the morning of April 24. Tanoli had survived
several previous attempts on his life and was known for his active campaigning against
militants. No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. A police operation has

Unknown gunmen have attacked a checkpoint near Slavyansk in eastern Ukraine. Two people
