Exercise 3: Talk Show
Creative exercise / Oral Activity
- Everyone must prepare ONE problem which they are ready to share with the rest of the class. Try
to be as inventive as possible and make them interesting. Don't forget you will have to read them
out to the class so be ready!
- Five people in the class must volunteer to be on the « panel of experts » who will solve the
audience's problems. Those five students will sit at the front of the class facing the « audience. »
- The teacher (or another student) can be the presenter but someone who will be able to keep the
« show » moving along.
- The teacher will introduce the show and then ask for students to present their problems to the
panel of experts. The panel will give advice making sure that they use the correct structures. The
audience can also give advice if they do not agree with the panel. This activity could even be filmed
and played back to the class afterwards. It works well as an oral activity and students can be graded
on their participation.
Have fun!
