special guests! A reception at the Agora Catholic Centre will follow the Mass. The Co-Cathedral seats more than 600 people –
let’s show the Good Lord that we appreciate all the blessings He has bestowed upon us.
EMERGENCY IN NEPAL – DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE

Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Nepal. The
destructive 7.8 magnitude earthquake has caused over 10,000
deaths and thousands of injuries. The amount of destruction is
overwhelming, and the priority needs are to provide tarps and
tents, water, food, sanitation, and hygiene items to the
victims. Development and Peace is working with other Caritas
members to assist Caritas Nepal in providing humanitarian aid.
You can contribute to these much-needed relief efforts by
donating. Your contribution to help the victims of the
earthquake will be matched by the Canadian Government until
May 25th, 2015. You can make a donation online at

is traditionally the month of growth in
regard to nature, and for this reason,
May is one of my favorite months. It is
extremely beautiful, but it is also
important in the Church. May is also traditionally the Month of
Mary, where we recall the role of Mary in salvation.
She is the Virgin Mother of God, whose fiat allowed Our Lord
to take human form. Because of her complete trust in God,
she lived her life sinlessly. And after her life, she was
assumed into Heaven by the power of God and crowned as
Queen of Heaven and Earth. She is, of course, not divine.
We worship only Jesus Christ, but we honor Mary as a saint.
We honor God by remembering the role of Mary in the
beginning of our salvation. And remember, Devotion to Mary
always leads to Jesus Christ!
In May there are a number of wonderful feast days including
the Anniversary of Fatima (May 13) and the Feast of the
Queenship of Mary (May 31) according to the 1962 Calendar.
According to the 1969 Calendar, May 31 is the Visitation of
the Blessed Virgin Mary. I ask you to please say the Rosary
each day, if possible, this month. So, please pray the
Rosary this month.
