Le Bachelor Professionnel en Informatique enseigné
à l’Université du Luxembourg est un excellent
choix pour les étudiant(e)s recherchant une solide
formation en informatique avec une orientation
professionnelle.
En accord avec le Processus de Bologne, ce
curriculum de trois années (six semestres) équivaut
à 180 crédits ECTS. L’Université du Luxembourg,
fondée en 2003, offre un environnement
international d’apprentissage avec des formes
d’enseignement innovantes, qui permettent un
degré élevé d’interaction grâce à des petites classes.
The Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science
taught at the University of Luxembourg is an excellent
choice for students seeking a solid and practically
oriented education in computer science.
L’objectif principal du Bachelor Professionnel en
Informatique est de former des étudiant(e)s capables
de s’insérer immédiatement à l’issue de leur
formation dans le monde professionnel : sociétés
de services et d’ingénierie informatique (SSII),
entreprises industrielles, services publics, services
administratifs, sociétés de distribution de matériels
informatiques, sociétés d’études, de conseil et de
formation en informatique, services financiers, etc.
Cependant, le programme offre également la
possibilité de se préparer activement lors du sixième
semestre à la poursuite d’études supérieures de
2e niveau (Master) en informatique, telles que par
exemple le « Master in Information & Computer

ultimately aims at preparing students for an easy
integration in the professional world at the end of
their studies: service and data-processing companies
(SSII), industry, public and administrative services,
computer equipment vendors, consultancy, financial
service companies, etc.
However, the programme also offers the opportunity
to actively prepare – during the sixth semester – for
higher studies in informatics on a 2nd level (Master),
such as for example the Master in Information &
Computer Sciences of the University of Luxembourg :

• Courses are mainly taught by professors of
the University, all very involved in research
programmes on an international level and in
technology transfer on a local level.
• French and English are commonly spoken by
the professors and used in the courses, with a
preference for English starting from the third
semester.
• Each semester counts 15 weeks. The courses
are grouped in modules according to the subject
matter. Each week is composed of 25 hours of
courses and lab work. Moreover, students will have
to carry out personal projects.
• In the second year, each student will have
to spend one semester abroad at a foreign
university (30 ECTS). This mobility is supported
by agreements signed between the University of
Luxembourg and various partner universities.
• The Bachelor study programme is completed with
a thesis in which the students demonstrate their
ability to apply the newly gained knowledge to a
practical context. Therefore, the 6th semester is
usually made up of an internship in a company.
Les enseignants du programme sont en majorité des professeurs de l’Université, tous engagés dans des programmes de recherche au niveau international et de transfert technologique au niveau local.
Les langues véhiculaires pour les enseignements et pour les supports de cours sont le français et l’anglais, avec une prépondérance de l’anglais à partir du 3e semestre.
Chaque semestre comprend 15 semaines. Les cours sont regroupés en modules suivant les matières enseignées. Le volume hebdomadaire de cours et de travaux pratiques est de 25 heures. A cela s’ajoutent les travaux personnels à réaliser par l’étudiant(e) en dehors des heures de classe.
En deuxième année, chaque étudiant(e) effectuera une période de mobilité obligatoire dans une université étrangère, d’une durée d’un semestre (30 ECTS). Des accords signés entre l’Université du Luxembourg et différentes
universités partenaires facilitent cette mobilité.
Le programme de Bachelor se termine par un
travail de fin d’études par lequel l’étudiant(e) démontre sa capacité à appliquer ses nouvelles connaissances dans un contexte pratique. In line with the Process of Bologna, this three year

Ainsi, le 6e semestre se compose normalement d’un stage en entreprise. Cependant, pour les étudiant(e)s voulant se préparer à un Master, le programme offre également la possibilité de faire un stage en interne à l’Université dans le cadre d’un travail à orientation de recherche scientifique, encadré par un enseignantchercheur.
However, for those students wishing to prepare for
a Masters degree, the programme also offers the
possibility of an internship within the University in
the context of scientific research, supervised by a
teacher/researcher.

procedures ?
• Les candidats doivent avoir réussi leurs études
secondaires, secondaires techniques ou de
technicien en informatique au Luxembourg
ou dans un pays de l’Union Européenne. Les
étudiant(e)s en provenance d’un pays hors Union
Européenne doivent en plus se soumettre à un
examen d’admission.
• Toutes les instructions relatives au dossier de
candidature peuvent être consultées sur le site

• L’inscription se fait en ligne sur ce même site
Internet de l’Université, à partir du mois de mai.
• Les frais d’inscription s’élèvent à 400 € pour le 1er
et le 2e semestre. Pour les semestres 3 à 6, les
frais d’inscription sont de 200 €/semestre.
• Applicants must have successfully accomplished
their secondary school or “technicien informatique“
in Luxembourg or in another EU country.
Applicants from a non-EU country must take an
additional admission test.

• Enrolment fee : 400 € for the first and second
semester. 200 € for the semesters 3 to 6.
