 L’institut du cancer de Montréal et le Centre de recherche du CHUM Présentent Mercredi le 16 mars à 11h CRCHUM, amphithéâtre du 5e étage R05.220 Dr. Ian Watson Goodman Cancer Research Centre, McGill University From Genomic Discoveries to Clinical Therapies in Melanoma Dr. Ian Watson is an Assistant Professor in the department of Biochemistry and a member of the Goodman Cancer Research Centre at McGill University. He received his Postdoctoral Training in the laboratory of Dr. Lynda Chin at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and was a visiting scientist at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard from 2010‐2011 prior to moving to the Department of Genomic Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC) in Houston from 2012‐2015. He served as Co‐
Chair for The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) melanoma (SKCM) project with Drs. Jeffrey Gershenwald and Lynda Chin. Dr. Watson was a recipient of the MDACC Division of Cancer Medicine Citation of Research Excellence Award for his work on elucidating the landscape of driver mutations in melanoma that was published in Cell in 2012. His current area of research focuses on characterizing the genetic driving events in melanoma through integration of computational approaches and functional genomics.
