Must be a resident of one of the states listed below (see tables at bottom of page)
Must demonstrate a proficiency in French and an interest in French culture
Must not have received a grant from the French government within the last 3 years
Must be between 18 and 25 years old at the time of entry into France. Exceptions cannot be made due to
insurance and rules surrounding the supervision of groups of young people.

Completed Application Form (3 pages)
Recommendation in French from your present or former French teacher
Proof of residency in participating state
$20 Application Fee (CHECK ONLY, please make payable to “AATF”)
Incomplete applications will be automatically discarded.
Important Notice
If selected, the candidate will be asked to confirm his or her participation in the program with a security deposit
of $200 (by check). The check will not be cashed so long as the candidate stays in the program. If the
candidate withdraws, we will try to find a person to replace him or her. If replacement is not possible, the
check will be cashed.
