François d'Izarny born in Paris en 1952 joined the Beaux Arts (Art school) in Dijon in 1970 but only shortly as he had
his first exhibition hardly one year later.e
From 1972, he shows his work in Portugal and Spain, then in 1975 he comes back to Paris where he organizes a large
exhibition in the galerie Laurens-Matignon.
During the next 2O years he settles in Paris, then in the States and in Japan where he gets more and more appraisal.
François d'Izarny sticks to the course he traced for himself, keeping away from any materialism. He paints what he
feels. It is not his purpose to hurt or to surprise. He refuses to be an artist giving a more or less esoteric message.
Genuine and inaffected, his work is only intend to people with a touch of poesy and imagination waiting to bloom
inside them.
The diversity of his refined art, it's sensitivity does not accomodate with technical considerations or academic
references. He believes that academic teaching dims the light of nature and coal the warmth of life. The magic comes
from the subtleties of his brushesstrokes, the harmonies colors and from a vibrating exquisite and indefinable ligh
The strength of his work, his lavish colors ans his mastery of technicalart, show us that we are in front of a great
artist.
His bouquets are dazzling with colors, his landscapes full of life vibrate with light and transparency. His workshops
compositions, something between pastaud future, a reflection of his inner self, where crumpled cloth, paint brushes
ans tubes lay haphazardly about drive us in an emotional world which gives Art a real feeling of eternity.
His last creations, such as the "citées perduesé( the lost cities) suspended between sky and sea demonstrate his
innate sens of graphism and perspective.
Today he spends half of his time in a little fishing village of the bay of Samana in the Dominican Republic and the
other half in Italy in the city of Firenze wich he particularly loves
