OUR ORIGIN
Amway is a direct seller, through Independent Business Owners (IBOs), of a wide range of
consumer products including foods, natural health products, cosmetics, non-prescription drugs
and such household products as soaps, detergents, cleaners, disinfectants and aerosols.
Amway Canada Corporation has been doing business in Canada since 1962, when its first
product was a liquid organic cleaner. The company has always played an important role in the
environmental community of its home base in London, Ontario and throughout Canada, where
IBOs distribute its products.
ON REG 298-12
This regulation, mandated by the Minister of Environment in the province of Ontario, dictates
that all producers of pharmaceuticals and sharps in the province of Ontario shall provide a
collection system for all its consumers where waste products are collected, handled, stored,
transported, and disposed of in a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible manner.
The regulation defines ‘pharmaceutical’ as ‘a drug within the meaning of section 2 of the Food
and Drugs Act (Canada) that is sold to consumers in Ontario, whether it is sold by the producer
of the pharmaceutical or by another person, and includes a natural health product within the
meaning of the Natural Health Products Regulations made under that Act.’ Amway Canada
Corporation does not distribute ‘sharps.’
For the purpose of this regulation, ‘producer’ would mean either the manufacturer, brand
owner, or first importer of the pharmaceutical. Amway Canada Corporation is the ‘producer.’
LOOKING AHEAD
On or before April 1st, 2014, and on or before April 1st in each subsequent year, a producer
of a pharmaceutical or sharp shall prepare a report that details the performance of the
stewardship plan to ensure waste products are collected, handled, stored, transported, and
disposed of in a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible manner.

COLLECTION LOCATION
Amway Canada Corporation distributes pharmaceuticals from one location within Canada. This
location is 375 Exeter Road, London, ON N5Y 5V6. The ‘collection location’ for all customer
returns and designated waste generated from Amway Canada Corporation’s operations is
located at this same address.
WASTE COLLECTED
Amway Canada Corporation is a compliant steward of multiple environmental stewardship
programs within the jurisdiction of Ontario. ACC is a registered steward within the Blue Box
Program, the Orange Drop Program, the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Program,
and finally the Collection of Pharmaceuticals and Sharps – ON REG 298/12.
Please see page three, ‘The Certificate of Destruction’ for total weight of pharmaceuticals
collected during fiscal year 2013. Please note the total weight excludes the primary packaging,
as this packaging is recycled and reported within the Blue Box Program.
Beginning in 2014, an amendment has been made to the program to ensure a ‘Certificate of
Destruction’ is obtained in the month of December to cover all waste collected from the time
period of January through December of each year.
HANDLING, STORAGE, TRANSPORTATION, DISPOSAL PROCEDURES
As an importer and distributor of Food, NHP, and Drug products, Amway Canada Corporation
has GMPs in place to properly handle and store products covered under the Food and Drugs
Act. These same procedures come into play to handle and store product returns. GMPs
are verified for compliance on an ongoing basis through internal audits, and external audits
performed by the Canadian Food and Inspection Agency and Health Canada.
Amway Canada Corporation contracts Canadian Liquids Processors Limited, located in 15
Biggar Avenue, Hamilton, ON L8L 3Z3, to transport and properly dispose of product returns
collected from Amway Canada Corporation. CLP is registered with the Ministry of Environment
in Ontario as an authorized collector and processor of products for recycling and also waste
streams (212L and 270L).

PLAN EFFECTIVENESS AND OUTCOME
It is in the opinion of Amway Canada Corporation that ACC exceeds the requirements as
defined in ON REG 298/12 for providing a collection system for all its consumers where waste
products are collected, handled, stored, transported, and disposed of in a safe, compliant, and
environmentally responsible manner.
Amway Canada Corporation believes in the spirit of continuous improvement. As such,
internal auditors of Amway’s Quality Management System will continuously audit and evoke
suggestions from internal employees to improve the internal collection system.
PROMOTION AND EDUCATION
Amway Canada Corporation provides information to the consumer on the safe use and storage
of its products through the declaration of use and storage instructions on the product’s label.
This information is available on all Natural Health Products distributed by Amway Canada
Corporation. The product label also contains a toll-free contact number to Amway’s Customer
Service, if there are any questions from the consumer relating to the product.
Amway Canada Corporation’s Returns Process Policy requires its customers to keep the
product in its primary packaging when returning product to Amway Canada Corporation. Every
customer order is accompanied with a ‘Return Form’ identifying contact information and return
instructions if the customer wishes to return product to Amway Canada Corporation.
Amway stands behind its products with the Amway 180 day, 100% Customer Satisfaction
Guarantee. If for any reason the customer is not completely satisfied with the product, the
customer may return the product within 180 days of purchase for an exchange or refund of the
product price and applicable tax.

QUALIFIED OPINION
As the Finance Manager of Amway Canada Corporation, I am providing the opinion that the
information contained herein is accurate to the best of my knowledge. This report meets the
Annual Reporting requirements as stated in the regulations.
As well, it should be noted that the Certificate of Destruction only covers materials to 08/20/13.
Future procedures will require revision to ensure disposal occurs in late December of each
respective year.

NOTRE ORIGINE
Amway pratique la vente directe, par le biais de Propriétaires de Commerce Indépendant (PCI),
d'une vaste gamme de produits de consommation notamment des aliments, des produits de
santé naturels, des cosmétiques, des médicaments en vente libre et de produits ménagers
comme savons, détergents, nettoyeurs, désinfectants et aérosols.
La Compagnie Amway Canada exerce une activité au Canada depuis 1962, sachant que son
premier produit était un nettoyeur organique liquide. La compagnie a toujours joué un rôle
important dans la communauté environnementale de son siège à London,Ontario, et à travers le
Canada, où les PCI distribuent ses produits.
RÉGLEMENT DE L'ONTARIO 298-12
Ce règlement, mandaté par le Ministre de l'environnement dans la province de l'Ontario, exige
que tous les producteurs de produits pharmaceutiques et d'objets pointus dans la province de
l'Ontario fournissent un système de collecte pour tous leurs consommateurs afin que les déchets
soient collectés, manipulés, entreposés, transportés et éliminés de manière sécuritaire, conforme
et respectueuse de l'environnement.
Le règlement définit un «produit pharmaceutique» comme «une drogue, au sens de l’article 2 de
la Loi sur les aliments et drogues (Canada), qui est vendue à des consommateurs en Ontario soit
par le producteur du produit pharmaceutique, soit par une autre personne. S’entend en outre d’un
produit de santé naturel au sens du Règlement sur les produits de santé naturels pris en vertu de
cette loi.» La Compagne Amway Canada ne distribue pas «d'objets pointus».
Aux fins de ce règlement, «producteur» signifierait le fabricant, le propriétaire de la marque
ou le premier importateur du produit pharmaceutique. La Compagnie Amway Canada est le
«producteur».
REGARD SUR L'AVENIR
Au plus tard le 1er avril 2014, et au plus tard le 1er avril de chaque année subséquente, un
producteur de produits pharmaceutiques ou d'objets pointus devra préparer un rapport donnant
des détails sur la performance du plan de gérance pour s'assurer que les déchets sont collectés,
manipulés, entreposés, transportés et éliminés de manière sécuritaire, conforme et respectueuse
de l'environnement.

LIEU DE COLLECTE
La Compagnie Amway Canada distribue des produits pharmaceutiques à partir d'un endroit
au Canada. Cet endroit se trouve 375 Rue Exeter, London, ON N5Y 5V6. Le «lieu de collecte»
pour tous les retours de clients et déchets désignés générés par les activités de la Compagnie
Amway Canada se trouve à la même adresse.
DÉCHETS COLLECTÉS
La Compagnie Amway Canada est un intendant conforme de plusieurs programmes de
gérance de l'environnement relevant de la juridiction de l'Ontario. La Compagnie Amway
Canada est un intendant enregistré du programme Boîtes Bleues, du programme Orange
Drop, du programme Déchets de matériel électrique et électronique, et enfin de la Collecte des
produits pharmaceutiques et des objets pointus – RÈGLEMENT DE L'ONTARIO 298/12.
Veuillez voir la page trois, «Le certificat de destruction», pour le poids total des produits
pharmaceutiques collectés durant l'année budgétaire 2013. Veuillez noter que le poids total
exclut l'emballage primaire car celui-ci est recyclé et déclaré en vertu du programme Boîtes
Bleues.
À partir de 2014, une modification est apportée au programme pour s'assurer qu'un «Certificat
de destruction» est obtenu en décembre pour couvrir tous les déchets collectés pour la
période allant de janvier à décembre de chaque année.
PROCÉDURES DE MANIPULATION, ENTREPOSAGE, TRANSPORT, ÉLIMINATION
En tant qu'importatrice et distributrice de produits alimentaires, PSN et drogues, la Compagnie
Amway Canada a des BPF en place pour manipuler et entreposer les produits assujettis à
la Loi sur les aliments et drogues. Ces mêmes procédures entrent en jeu pour manipuler et
entreposer les produits retournés. Les BPF sont vérifiées pour leur conformité de manière
permanente par le biais de vérifications internes et de vérifications externes effectuées par
l'Agence canadienne d'inspection des aliments et Santé Canada.
La Compagnie Amway Canada a conclu un contrat avec Canadian Liquids Processors
Limited, se trouvant 15 Avenue Biggar, Hamilton, ON L8L 3Z3, pour transporter et éliminer
correctement les produits retournés recueillis par la Compagnie Amway Canada. CLP est
enregistré auprès du Ministère de l’environnement en Ontario en tant que récupérateur et
transformateur de produits pour le recyclage et aussi de flux de déchets (212L et 270L).

EFFICACITÉ ET RÉSULTAT DU PLAN
La Compagnie Amway Canada est d'avis qu'elle dépasse les exigences telles que définies
dans le RÈGLEMENT DE L'ONTARIO 298/12 pour fournir un système de collecte à tous ses
consommateurs selon lequel les déchets sont collectés, manipulés, entreposés, transportés
et éliminés de manière sécuritaire, conforme et respectueuse de l'environnement.
La Compagnie Amway Canada croit en l'esprit d'une amélioration continue. De ce
fait, des vérificateurs internes du Système de gestion de la qualité d'Amway vérifieront
continuellement et évoqueront les suggestions des employés internes en vue d'améliorer le
système de collecte interne.
PROMOTION ET ÉDUCATION
La Compagnie Amway Canada fournit des informations au consommateur sur une utilisation
et un entreposage sécuritaires de ses produits par le biais de la déclaration d'usage et des
instructions d'entreposage sur l'étiquette des produits. Ces informations sont disponibles
sur tous les Produits de Santé Naturels distribués par la Compagnie Amway Canada.
L'étiquette du produit contient aussi le numéro d'appel sans frais du Service à la Clientèle
d'Amway au cas où le consommateur aurait des questions sur le produit.
La politique du processus de retours de la Compagnie Amway Canada exige que ses
clients gardent le produit dans son emballage primaire pour le retourner à la Compagnie
Amway Canada. Chaque commande de client est accompagnée d'un formulaire de retour
identifiant les coordonnées et les instructions de retour si le client désire retourner le produit
à la Compagnie Amway Canada.
Amway répond de ses produits avec la Garantie de Satisfaction du Client à 100% de 180
jours d'Amway. Si, pour une raison quelconque, le client n'est pas entièrement satisfait du
produit, il peut le retourner dans les 180 jours qui suivent l'achat pour un échange ou un
remboursement du prix du produit et de la taxe applicable.

contenues dans la présente sont exactes au meilleur de mes connaissances. Ce rapport satisfait
aux exigences de la Déclaration annuelle comme stipulé dans les règlements.
En outre, il convient de noter que le Certificat de destruction couvre seulement le matériel jusqu'au
20/08/13. Les procédures futures exigeront une révision pour assurer que l'élimination a lieu à la
fin décembre de chaque année respective.
