Alcohol • Cancellation policy • • • Fees for reservations and changing reservations are non-refundable. There are no refunds for cancellations. There are no refunds for reasons related to weather conditions or trail conditions. The possession and consumption of alcohol are prohibited in Gatineau Park. Offenders will be subject to a fine. General Information Animals • • Pets are not permitted in the cabins or yurts, at winter campsites, or on the trails leading to them. Feeding wild animals is strictly prohibited. Campfires • • Fires are not permitted outside of the cabins and yurts. At campsites, fires are permitted in designated areas only. Responsibilities • • Use of the trails, cabins, yurts and campsites is at your own risk. Neither the National Capital Commission (NCC) nor Services récréatifs Demsis inc. (Demsis) can be held responsible in any way for loss or damage resulting from natural causes linked to vegetation, wildlife, wind, rain, snow, etc.; or for theft, vandalism or damage to property or injuries to persons related to the use of the lands or facilities of the NCC. Visitors must protect their valuables and should not leave any items of value in their vehicle. During your stay, one member of your group must be responsible for, and have in his or her possession, the receipt issued upon payment for the overnight stay. Reservations Toilets Cabins, yurts and campsites have outdoor toilets located nearby. Water • There is no source of drinking water near the cabins, yurts or winter campsites. You must provide your own water. However, arrangements may be made with Demsis to buy bottled water (18 litres) and have it delivered to the cabin, yurt or campsite. Parking The Park’s network of trails is served by several parking lots around the periphery. The P11 (O’Brien), P16 (Meech Valley), P17 (Wakefield) and P19 (Philippe Lake Sector) parking lots are the departure points to the cabins, yurts and campsites. Your choice of departure point depends on the distance you wish to travel. Trails With one exception, all trails are machine-groomed at least once a week. Trail 56, which links Taylor Lake to the Richard Lake yurt, is usually left in a natural state to give skiers a back-country experience. Trail signage • There must be at least two persons spending the night to reserve an overnight stay. There must be two adults if the group includes anyone under 18 years of age. Trails are identified by signs that indicate the trail number and the level of difficulty. Destinations and distances are posted at most trail intersections. • Anyone who wishes to stay overnight in a cabin or yurt or at a campsite must pay in advance for their stay. Trail map • Before you set out on the trail for your overnight stay, you must submit the release form directly to the Demsis officer on duty at the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre (33 Scott Road, Chelsea), which is open daily, from 9 am to 5 pm. This form must be filled out and signed by each person staying overnight in the Park. Your signature acknowledges that you accept full responsibility for your own safety during your stay in the Park, and that you are aware of the information provided in this document. Season pass holders must also indicate their season pass number on the form. The winter trail map may be purchased at the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre ($5.50 plus tax). The map is also available at several sporting goods stores in the region.
