Groups Dramatize Parables at Adult Faith Course

The first part of the Adult Faith Formation Course ended this year with a retreat session. Fr. Howard Chabot graciously agreed to lead
the participants through this prayer day. He chose “Naming God” as the theme for the day.
In all of his talks, Fr. Chabot helped participants to understand that each time a name is given to God the namer is trying to express an
experience he/she has had with God. He said, this is why it is so important not to frame this name, for then we would limit our
experience of God to one picture.
Thumbing through the pages of the Hebrew Scripture and the New Testament, thousands of names for God are found. To emphasize
the names found in the New Testament Father had each group of participants dramatize a parable. Although these presentations
were humorous the picture of a kind, compassionate and merciful God emerged.

The group gathered in the chapel to celebrate the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Fr. Chabot was the presider.
Next year the second part of this Adult Faith Course will be held at Marguerite Centre, 700 Mackay St., Pembroke, on Sept. 15-16,
2006; Nov. 10-11, 2006; Dec. 1-2, 2006; April 13-14, 2007 and May 5, 2007.
