N° UF-2005-161 (A) – EUROCOPTER – Hélicoptères SA 341/342 (ATA 25)
OBJET : Equipements/Aménagements - Percussion intempestive de la cartouche pyrotechnique sur treuil
électrique GOODRICH.
1. APPLICABILITE :
Hélicoptères SA 341 G et SA 342 J, équipés de treuils électriques GOODRICH 76370-XXX pourvus de
moteurs tous types, à l'exclusion du moteur AUXILEC.
2. RAISON :
Cette Consigne de Navigabilité Urgente (CNU) fait suite à la découverte d’un risque potentiel de percussion
intempestive de la cartouche pyrotechnique entraînant le cisaillement du câble.
En conséquence, cette CNU demande conjointement :
- d’inhiber la fonction de l’étoupille,
- d’approvisionner et d’installer dans l’appareil une cisaille coupe-câble (immobilisée dans l’appareil, facilement
accessible par l’opérateur (treuilliste) et capable de sectionner le câble du treuil en cas de nécessité), cette
cisaille et son installation devant être approuvées par l’autorité locale de tutelle,
- d’installer les étiquettes correspondantes en cockpit et en cabine,
- d’adapter les procédures opérationnelles.
3. ACTIONS IMPERATIVES ET DELAIS D’APPLICATION :
Les mesures suivantes sont rendues impératives à compter de la réception de la présente CNU :
3.1.
Au plus tard avant la prochaine mission de treuillage, appliquer les instructions requises au paragraphe
2.B du Télex Alert EUROCOPTER (TA) SA 341/342 cité en référence.
3.2.
Avant chaque mission de treuillage, s’assurer de la bonne application du § 3.1 ci-dessus et appliquer les
consignes d’utilisation décrites dans le § 2.D.1 du TA en référence.
4. DOCUMENT DE REFERENCE :
Télex Alert EUROCOPTER SA 341/342 n° 25.12.
(Toute révision ultérieure approuvée de ce TA est acceptable).
5. DATE D’ENTREE EN VIGUEUR :
Dès réception à compter du 16 septembre 2005.

No. UF-2005-161 (A) – EUROCOPTER – SA 341/342 HELICOPTERS (ATA 25)
SUBJECT: Equipment/Furnishings – Untimely firing of squibs on GOODRICH electric hoists.
1. EFFECTIVITY:
SA 341 G and SA 342 J helicopters, equipped with GOODRICH electric hoist 76370-XXX fitted with any type of
motor except AUXILEC motors.
2. REASON:
This Emergency Airworthiness Directive (EAD) is issued following the discovery of a potential risk of untimely
squib firing, which would cause the cable to be cut.
Consequently, this EAD jointly requires:
- to inhibit the squib function,
- to procure and install cable cutting shears on board the helicopter (the cable cutting shears being secured
on board the helicopter, readily accessible by the operator (hoist operator) and capable of cutting the hoist
cable in case of emergency), these cable cutting shears and their installation having to be approved by the
local authorities,
- to install the corresponding labels in the cockpit and the cabin,
- to adapt the operational procedures.
3. MANDATORY ACTIONS AND COMPLIANCE TIMES:
The following measures are rendered mandatory upon receipt of this EAD:
3.1.
At the latest before the next hoisting operation, comply with the instructions specified in paragraph 2.B of
the referenced EUROCOPTER SA 341/342 Alert Telex (AT).
3.2.
Before each hoisting operation, make sure that compliance with paragraph 3.1. above has correctly been
ensured and comply with the operating instructions specified in paragraph 2.D.1 of the referenced AT.

(Any subsequent approved revision to this AT is acceptable).
5. EFFECTIVE DATE:
Upon receipt as from September 16, 2005.
