En tant que promoteur ou personnalité scientifique choisie comme personne de référence par un
candidat dans l’appel Bourses et Mandats 2012, nous vous demandons de joindre à son dossier
une lettre de référence.
Remarque : les candidatures Aspirant, Candidat spécialiste doctorant, Spécialiste doctorant,
Vétérinaire clinicien-chercheur doctorant, Chargé de recherches (excepté Chargé de recherches
4e année) et Spécialiste postdoctorant ne reprennent pas de personnes de référence.

Procédure : tout promoteur ou toute personne de référence sera invitée par un courriel du F.R.S.FNRS à charger sa lettre électroniquement via Sémaphore. Les utilisateurs qui n’auraient pas
encore de compte se verront attribuer un compte par le F.R.S.-FNRS. Il ne faut donc pas nous faire
parvenir cet avis par voie postale ou par courriel.

Aspirant
Bourse de recherches visant la réalisation d’une thèse de doctorat en 4 ans.
Bourse spéciale de doctorat
Mandat destiné à des enseignants de l’enseignement secondaire, diplômés
universitaires de la CFB bénéficiant de la stabilité d'emploi et pouvant obtenir une
mise en disponibilité d'un an avec certitude de réintégrer leur poste à la fin de ce
congé, afin de leur permettre d'achever un travail de recherches en vue de
l'obtention d'un titre de docteur à thèse dans l’une des institutions universitaires de
la CFB.
Candidat spécialiste
doctorant
Mandat de X + 2 ans (X = durée du stage de spécialisation, soit 3 à 6 ans) attribué à
des médecins cliniciens souhaitant entreprendre une spécialisation ou en cours de
spécialisation afin de leur permettre d’accomplir une thèse de doctorat tout en
assurant la continuité d’une activité hospitalière à mi-temps dans le cadre de leur
formation clinique.
Spécialiste doctorant
Mandat de deux ans (renouvelable une fois) attribué à des médecins spécialistes
agréés afin de leur permettre d’accomplir une thèse de doctorat tout en assurant
la continuité d’une activité hospitalière à mi-temps dans le cadre de leur formation
clinique.

Vétérinaire clinicienchercheur doctorant
Mandat de deux ans (renouvelable une fois) attribué à des médecins vétérinaires
en cours de spécialisation afin de leur permettre d’accomplir une thèse de
doctorat tout en assurant la continuité d’une activité à mi-temps dans le cadre de
leur formation clinique.
Chargé de recherches
Mandat de niveau postdoctoral de trois ans destiné aux chercheurs détenteurs du
grade académique de Docteur à thèse, souhaitant approfondir leur expérience de
la recherche.
Spécialiste postdoctorant
Mandat de deux ans (renouvelable une fois) attribué à des médecins spécialistes
porteurs d’un diplôme de docteur à thèse et d’une reconnaissance de spécialiste
valable pour pratiquer la spécialité en Belgique, souhaitant approfondir leur
expérience de la recherche tout en assurant la continuité d’une activité à mi-temps
dans le cadre de leur formation clinique.
Chercheur qualifié
Mandat ouvrant au titulaire une carrière de chercheur sous contrat de travail à
durée indéterminée.
Maître de recherches
Promotion du mandat « Chercheur qualifié ».
Directeur de recherches
Promotion du mandat « Maître de recherches ».
M.I.S Ulysse
Mandat de deux ans (plus une année de prolongation éventuelle) destiné à
encourager des chercheurs belges ou étrangers, hautement qualifiés, et qui
mènent actuellement une carrière scientifique à l’étranger, à venir la développer
dans une université de la CFB.
Le candidat doit être un chercheur actif qui pourra présenter un parcours
exemplaire au cours des dix dernières années, démontrant des résultats de
recherche significatifs. Le candidat doit avoir les capacités requises pour diriger une
équipe de recherche et doit bénéficier d’une reconnaissance scientifique au
niveau international.

As the promoter or scientific scholar selected as a referee by an applicant, within the framework of
the call “Grants and Fellowships 2012”, you are asked to attach a reference letter to the
applicant’s file.
Note: the applications to the following fellowships do not need a referee: “Aspirant” (Research
Fellow), “Candidat spécialiste doctorant” (Medical Doctor Applicant to an MSc and a Ph.D.),
“Spécialiste doctorant” (Clinical Master Specialist Applicant to a Ph.D.), “Vétérinaire clinicienchercheur doctorant” (Veterinary MD. Ph.D. Student), “Chargé de recherches” (Postdoctoral
Researcher) – except for 4th year Postdoctoral Researchers – and “Spécialiste postdoctorant” (Postdoctorate Clinical Master Specialist).

via Semaphore, the web-based application. The F.R.S.-FNRS will assign an account to the users who
would still not have one. Therefore the report shouldn’t be sent by post mail or email.

Description of the "Grants and Fellowship" instruments
'Aspirant' (Research Fellow)
A research grant aiming at the realization of a doctoral thesis in 4 years
'Bourse spéciale de doctorat'
(Special Doctoral Grant)
A fellowship intended for secondary education teachers holding a university
degree from the CFB, enjoying a stable employment and able to obtain a one-year
non-active status with the certainty to get back their position after the leave of
absence. This fellowship will enable these teachers to finish their research work in
order to receive a Ph.D. title in one of the CFB academic institutions.
'Candidat spécialiste
doctorant'(Medical Doctor
Applicant to an MSc and a
Ph.D.)
A fellowship of X + 2 years (X = length of the specialization internship, meaning 3 to 6
years) allotted to clinical doctors who wish to carry out a specialization or in the
course of a specialization in order to enable them achieve a doctoral thesis, while
pursuing a part-time hospital activity within the framework of their clinical training.
'Spécialiste doctorant' (Clinical
Master Specialist Applicant to
a Ph.D.)
A two-year fellowship (renewable once) allotted to accredited medical specialists
in order to enable them achieve a doctoral thesis, while pursuing a part-time
hospital activity within the framework of their clinical training.
'Vétérinaire Clinicienchercheur doctorant'
(Veterinary MD. Ph.D. Student)
A two-year fellowship (renewable once) allotted to veterinary doctors in the course
of a specialization in order to enable them achieve a doctoral thesis, while pursuing
a part-time activity within the framework of their clinical training.
'Chargé de
recherches'(Postdoctoral
Researcher)
A three-year postdoctoral fellowship intended for researchers who hold the
academic degree of Doctor (with thesis) and who wish to further develop their
research experience.
'Spécialiste postdoctorant'
(Post-doctorate Clinical Master
Specialist)
A two-year fellowship (renewable once) allotted to medical specialists, holding a
Doctoral degree (with thesis) and an authorisation that enables them to practise
their specialization in Belgium, and who wish to further develop their research
experience while pursuing a part-time activity within the framework of their clinical
training.
'Chercheur qualifié' (Research
Associate)
A fellowship that introduces the holder to a research career under an open-ended
contract.
'Maître de recherches'(Senior
Research Associate)
'Directeur de recherches'
(Research Director)
A promotion for the fellowship of “Chercheur qualifié” (Research Associate").
'M.I.S. Ulysse' (Ulysse Incentive
Grant for Mobility in Scientific
Research)
A two-year fellowship (plus a possible one-year extension) intended to encourage
Belgian and foreign researchers, highly qualified and currently carrying out a
scientific career abroad, to come and develop their career in one of the CFB
university.
The applicant must be an active researcher who is able to present an excellent
career track for the last 10 years, demonstrating significant research results. The
applicant should have the required skills for directing a research team and must be
a worldwide renowned scientist.
