VITRINE ‘QUÉBEC AT FIRATÀRREGA 2009’
The Bureau du Québec in Barcelona invites you to participate in the Vitrina
Québec, from the 10th to the 13th of September, at FiraTàrrega.
La Vitrine Québec (Québec Showcase) will be the meeting point for presenting the
current state of Quebecoise street arts and circus and encouraging knowledge and
contacts between professionals in Québec and Catalonia, Spain and the rest of
Europe, taking advantage of the gathering of companies and professionals in Tàrrega.
La Vitrina Québec covers three main activities:

Presentation in the official programme of FiraTàrrega of the most recent
works by 3 Quebecoise companies: Les Parfaits Inconnus, Mobile
Home, Poupées [K]rinkées.

Permanent presence of Québec during the 4 days on a presentation
stand in the Fair Pavillion at FiraTàrrega, La Llotja (stand A23-A24).
Coordinated by the Government of Québec and the Quebecoise
association ‘En Piste’, this stand will be the meeting point for all the
professionals.

Brunch - round table
A meeting to present the current state of the circus and street
arts in Québec with the participation of the leading Quebecoise
agents.

Suzanne Samson, director general of ‘En Piste’; Mr. Stéphane
Lavoie, director general of the TOHU; Mr. Steeve Dumais, vicepresident of the RAR ‘Regroupement des arts de rue du
Québec’; Mr. Nassib El-Husseini, director of the company ‘Les
7 doigts de la main’; Mr. Marc Lalonde, director general of the
École Nationale de Cirque de Montréal; Mr. Michel Lafortune,
director of the social circus of Cirque du Soleil; Mr. Alain Paré,
President-Director general of Cinars; Ms. Luce Couture, director
of Théâtre Centennial/RIDEAU; Mr. Jeannot Painchaud,
president of En Piste, founder and co-director of Cirque Éloize;
Mr. Yves Neveu, director general of the École de Cirque de
Québec and Mr. Jean Pelletier, director general, and Ms. Élyse
Bastarache, programming director of the Carnaval de Québec.
CONTENTS OF THE PRESENTATIONS
The circus arts
As president of En Piste, founder and co-director of Cirque
Éloize, artist and businessman, Mr. Jeannot Painchaud will
present the state of the circus arts in Québec: evolution and
current situation in creation, production, diffusion and recognition
of the discipline. He will also mention future projects in the
sector.
The TOHU
Mr. Stéphane Lavoie, director general of the TOHU, will present
this organisation.
The social circus of Cirque su Soleil
Its director, Mr. Michel Lafortune, will explain what social circus
is and the activities by Cirque du Soleil and other organisations.
He will present the social circus projects that there are between
Québec and Catalonia.
The street arts
The consultant of the street arts programme at the Québec
international summer festival, Mr. Michel G. Barette, will detail
the situation of the street arts in the framework of the
Quebecoise stage arts and the perspectives for the future
(creation, diffusion, and agreements with other organisms)
The RAR (Regroupement des artistes de rue du Québec)
Mr. Steve Dumais, vice-president of the entity, will present the
objectives and orientation of the RAR, a new association of the
companies for the creation of street arts.
Projet Fibonacci
Mr. Nassib El-Husseini, director of the company Les 7 Doigts de
la Main, will present the Fibonacci project for artistic cooperation
between Québec and Catalonia.
