latter part of the semester.
Student Materials needed :
A three-ring binder with 3 dividers, a journal, pen and /or pencil, and a highlighter. A
pocket dictionary is useful, but not required.
French 2311 is a dual credit course through South Plains College that offers high school students
college credit in French. The course allows students the opportunity to continue their study of the
French language and culture, and to begin their study of French literature. The course will be
conducted mostly in French.
In addition to the above-mentioned course materials, various authentic recordings and French
films will be used to improve students’ listening comprehension and to give them a better
understanding of French culture. Cultural readings will be provided as well as a variety of other
readings so that students can begin reading French literature.
Students will be evaluated in a number of ways, including written, oral and listening
comprehension activities. Throughout the semester, students are required to keep a journal in
French. They will also be asked to write several compositions.

Course Requirements: Since this is a performance class, in order to maximize the
potential to successfully complete this course, the student must attend all class meetings,
participate actively and complete all assignments.
