D'abord prsente comme un concept-car, la Jaguar XJ 220 fut presque tudie en "perruque", en parallle aux projets
plus classiques et officiels, par une quipe runie autour de Jim Randle, ingnieur en chef de l'entreprise. En 1988, ils
prsentent leur "bb" John Egan, patron de l'entreprise, et il est alors dcid d'exposer cette voiture exceptionnelle au
Salon de Birmingham de la mme anne. L'accueil trs favorable que lui font le public et les acheteurs potentiels
emporte la dcision de la mettre en production, en limitant le nombre d'exemplaires 350. Grce son profilage soign, la
Jaguar XJ 220 entre ainsi dans le club trs ferm des "plus de 300", atteignant mme 320 km/h. Mme au prix de 3,5
millions de francs, les acheteurs se l'arrachent. Livre partir de 1992, il sera finalement produit 281 exemplaires de
cette Jaguar totalement hors norme et qui, depuis, n'a pas eu d'quivalent. Portant le n40 de la srie et produite en
1992, la Jaguar XJ220 que nous proposons a t prleve de la chane de fabrication par Tom Walkinshaw, patron de
TWR, pour sa collection personnelle. Elle a t par la suite cde un collectionneur, ce qui explique qu'elle n'ait t
immatricule qu'en 1998. Elle a bnfici d'une grosse rvision en 1998, pour un total de 16 500 euros, avec notamment
un remplacement du rservoir, comme recommand par le constructeur. Une autre grosse rvision a eu lieu en aot
2010. En 2011 d'autres travaux furent effectus dont le remplacement des freins et des pneus. Le dossier d'entretien,
comportant les factures, sera fourni avec la voiture. L'ancien propritaire a particip au Rallye de Paris 2011. Achete en
2011 sous le marteau d'Herv Poulain alors qu'elle avait parcouru 7 200 km, la voiture n'a t que trs peu utilise
puisqu'elle affiche aujourd'hui 8 650 km. Son propritaire helvtique important la voiture en Suisse et ne l'utilisant que
durant les beaux jours. Equipe d'un autoradio Alpine avec GPS 16/9, cette Jaguar XJ220 est dans un tat de
prservation impressionnant. Elle demeure aujourd'hui la seule supercar abordable. Vritable prototype sur route, elle
offre des sensations hors du commun, avec la conscience d'tre au volant d'une automobile cre pour la recherche de
performances pures. Cette voiture tant d'origine suisse, l'acqureur devra s'acquitter des droits et taxes l'importation

prototype - Part of the exclusive "over 300 km/h" club Initially presented as a design car, the Jaguar XJ 220 was
almost studied as a "wig" alongside the more classic official projects, by a team led by the firm's chief engineer Jim
Randle. In 1988, they introduced their "baby" to John Egan, the firm's chairman, who then decided to exhibit this
exceptional vehicle at the Birmingham Fair of the same year. The very favourable welcome from the public and from
potential buyers led to the decision to mass-produce the vehicle, limiting the number of copies to 350. Because of its
carefully designed profile, the Jaguar XJ 220 is a member of the exclusive "over 300" club and can even reach 320
km/h (200 mph). At a price of 3.5 million francs, the buyers snapped it up. A total of 281 copies of this quite
remarkable Jaguar were produced from 1992 onwards, and there has been nothing like it since. The Jaguar XJ220
that we are offering, no. 40 in the series and produced in 1992, was taken from the production line by Tom
Walkinshaw, the boss of TWR, for his personal collection. It was then transferred to a collector, and for this reason
was not registered until 1998. In 1998 it underwent a major overhaul, costing 16,500, including a petrol tank
replacement as recommended by the manufacturer. Another major overhaul was conducted in August 2010, and in
2011 other works were carried out, including replacement of the brakes and tyres. The service file, including bills,
comes with the car. The previous owner participated in the 2011 Rallye de Paris. In 2011 the current owner bought
the car in an Artcurial auction, the car had 7,200 km on the clock at that time. He imported the car in Switzerland and
used it very rarely; the meter now shows 8,650 km. Equipped with an Alpine car radio with 16/9 GPS, this Jaguar
XJ220 is in an impressive condition. Real prototype on the road, it offers a truly delightful ride with the feeling of
being behind the wheel of a car created as part of a quest for the perfect performance. Today, it remains the only
affordable supercar. The buyer of this Swiss car will have to settle the import taxes in the country of destination.
