L’Université Agostinho Neto (UAN) est la première Université publique de
l´Angola mise en place en 1963.
Le 23 Décembre 1968, le Studies Universitaires générales de l’Angola a
obtenu le statut d’université adoptant le nom de l’Université de Luanda, en
donnant les premiers degrés, et les études de médecine.
Avec la reconquête de la souveraineté nationale, le 11 Novembre 1975,
l’Université de Luanda gagne le statut d’université nationale puis en
1985 elle prend le nom d’Université Agostinho Neto, UAN, en l’honneur
du premier président de la République d’Angola et de son premier recteur
après l’indépendance (1976-1979).

The Agostinho Neto University (UAN) is the first public university of the
Republic Angola.
On the 23th December 1968, the tuniversity general studies of Angola
gained the university status, adopting the designation of the University of
Luanda, conferring the graduate degrees, doctor and aggregate. With the reconquest of the national sovereignty,on the 11of November
1975, the University of Luanda won the national university status and
on January 24 1985, was renamed to Agostinho Neto University, UAN,
in honor of the first president of Republic Popular of Angola and the first
Rector after independence (1976-1979).
