JOB HIGHLIGHTS
Develops in-depth understanding & analysis of energy data. Conducts energy data
analysis. Implements & maintains the data mining. Support database application
testing & implementation.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop in-depth understanding and analysis of energy data in context of
member countries and Secretariat characteristics, through collaboration with
other team members and energy Analysts. Analysis of external data as well
as internal assessments, and formulating views that are presented for the
Forum and Member Countries.
2. Develop processes for standardizing raw data coming from different sources
in a variety of formats, and support team members in cleaning and
improving data quality. Monitoring the premiums market, contracting and
agreements;
3. Conduct energy data analysis using appropriate analytical tools.Provides
concrete recommendations to the Gas Market Analysis Department on
prospect strategy and priorities;

4. Prepare written documents, clearly describing data cleaning & analysis
methods and results. To carry out any other tasks assigned to him by his
relevant superiors as pertain to his background, qualifications and position.
5. Adopt analytical methodologies based on feedback from internal and
external stakeholders and industry best practices.
6. Prioritize and respond to requests for data retrieval, visualization, and
investigation with minimal turn-around time.
7. Implement, and maintain data mining, statistical, and visualization
algorithms needed for data Analysis.
8. Develop, and maintain a strategy for data collection and reporting.
9. Work with data analysts, and modeling staff to document data requirements,
in collaboration with data management staff.
10. Participate in Global Gas Model data maintenance and update.
11. Provide data integration and design expertise that will lead to the
appropriate mapping and integration of data from various authoritative
sources.
12. Support database application testing and production implementation as
required.
13. Manage large datasets; move and merge data files from different platforms,
clean, aggregate data and perform quality control.
14. Organize and create documents related to databases: keep track of the status
of datasets and communicate with data providers about data accuracy and
data dictionary; clearly label variables and define variables through detailed
description in the database.
15. Perform data entry, update, and loading.
