Karim Jerbi, Ph.D. du département de
psychologie de l'Université de Montréal
et Tiago H. Falk, Ph.D. de l'Institut
national de la recherche scientifique
(INRS) viendront tour à tour nous
présenter la technologie de l'interface
neuronale directe (IND). Voyez
comment la recherche a commencée,
où elle en est et le futur. Un voyage
qui semble sortie tout droit de la
science fiction mais qui est pourtant
bien réel. Vous y apprendrez comment
cette technologie changera le visage
de plusieurs disciplines, de l'interaction
homme-machine en passant par le
marketing et le jeu. Le cerveau comme
vous ne l'avez jamais vu. Jean-Philip Poulin de chez Sensaura
viendra vous démontrer comment la
recherche effectué sur les interfaces
neuronales par les chercheurs leur
permet de détecter en temps réel les
émotions d'utilisateurs d'applications
mobiles en intégrant la technologie
dans des appareils tels les montres,
les écouteurs et les vêtements
intelligents. Vous en voulez plus ? BCI
Montréal sera sur place avec plusieurs
démonstrateur commercial. Vous
pourrez voir, touchez et discuter avec
les innovateurs d'aujourd'hui pour voir
et comprendre ce qu'il est possible de

main. Karim Jerbi
Assistant Professeur
Dept. Psychologie, University of Montréal Il détient une chaire de recherche du Canada sur les
systèmes neuroscience et pour l'imagerie cognitive
neuronale. Son champ de recherche inclue des
études multimodale de réseaux neuronaux à grande
échelle, les interfaces cerveau-machine,
l'intelligence artificielle et la classification de signaux
neuronaux.
Tiago Falk
Professeur à INRS-EMT
Tiago Falk est professeur à l'Institut national de la
recherche scientifique, au centre Énergie,
Materiaux, Télécommunications (INRS-EMT) dans
la grande région de Montréal. Il est le fondateur et le
directeur du laboratoire « Multimodal/Multimedia
Signal Analysis and Enhancement (MuSAE) qui
supporte une équipe travaillant sur plusieurs projets
utilisant des technologies d'interfaces humainmachine, et diverses applications de domaine varié
tels les communications, la santé, le « neurogaming
», et le « neuromarketing ». Professeur Falk est
également un membre senior du IEEE, un membre
de la société de recherche Sigma Xi and un
membre du » Global Young Academy.
Jean-Philippe Poulin
Co-fondateur et chargé de projet, SensAura
Ingénieur mécanique de formation, il détient
également une solide formation en gestion des
affaires. Il a obtenu un certificat honorifique pour un
projet dévelopé avec le cirque du soleil. Il a
également gagné le prix choix du publique en 2014
durant sa participation au Hacking Health de
Toronto.
Dr Vincent Paquette, M.Sc., Ph.D., Neuropsychologist and Owner at Institut
PsychoNeuro
Dr Vincent Paquette, M.Sc., Ph.D., est
neuropsychologue et directeur de l’Institut
PsychoNeuro, une clinique de psychologie et de
santé globale. Il donne une formation de 60 heures
sur « l’Électroencéphalographie et la
psychoneurothérapie (neurofeedback) », accréditée
par l’Ordre des psychologues du Québec. Il a fait
son doctorat à l’Université de Montréal sur l’effet de
la psychoneurothérapie sur l’activité neuroélectrique
de 27 patients en dépression majeure chronique. Il
a analysé plus de 500 cas d’EEGQ et traité
plusieurs patients en neurofeedback à sa clinique.

speak about brain computer interface
(BCI) technology. Come to see how
everything started, where we are, and
where it is going! A journey that will
bring you in a science-fiction world that
is more real than it looks. You will see

Jean-Philippe Poulin, project leader
at Sensaura and Dr. Vincent Paquette,
M.Sc., PhD, neurospychologist and
director of the PsychoNeuro
institute, will show you what is possible
when cutting-edge research partners
up with the user experience and
healthcare industry. Watches,
headphones and smart clothes can
now incorporate BCI technology
allowing an understanding of your
emotions. If Neurofeedback can be
used by the industry to enhance your
experience (SensAura). Also, it
(Neurofeedback) can be used to treat
patients with major depression and
ADD, with a technique called
psychoneurotherapy. The future is
here, come to the BCI café to see it
with your own eyes.
Karim Jerbi
Assistant Professor
Psychology Department of the University of
Montréal Karim Jerbi holds a Canada Research Chair in
Systems Neuroscience and Cognitive
Neuroimaging. His research topics include
multimodal studies of large-scale brain networks,
brain-machine interfaces, aritifical intelligence and
brain signal classification.
Tiago Falk
Professor at INRS-EMT
Tiago Falk is a Professor at the Institut national de
la recherche scientifique, Centre Énergie,
Máteriaux, Télécommunications (INRS-EMT), in
Montreal, QC. He is founder and director of the
Multimodal Signal Analysis and Enhancement
(MuSAE) Lab, where he currently leads a team
working on a wide range of human-computer
interface technologies and applications spanning the
telecommunications, health, affective computing,
neurogaming, and neuromarketing realms.
Professor Falk is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a
Member of the Sigma Xi Research Society, and a
Member of the Global Young Academy.

Jean-Philip is a mechanical engineer and an
International Project Management Master holder
from ÉTS. While pursuing his professional activities,
he is completing a specialized graduate certificate in
management at HEC Montreal. During his Master
degree, he completed a four month semester at the
Munk School of Global Affairs in Toronto. JeanPhilip Poulin is currently a project leader at
Sensaura, a multimodal real-time emotion
recognition platform. Dr Vincent Paquette, M.Sc., Ph.D., Neuropsychologist and Owner at Institut
PsychoNeuro
Dr. Vincent Paquette, M.Sc., PhD.,
neurophychologist and director of PsychoNeuro
institute, a clinical psychology and overall health. He gives a training of 60 hours on
“electroencephalogram and psychotherapy
(neurofeedback)”, certified by the colleges of
psychologist of Québec. He did is PhD at the
University of Montreal on the effect of psychotherapy
on the neuroelectrical activity of 27 patients with
chronic depression. He analyzed more the 500
cases of quantitative EEG and treated several
patients with neurofeedback at is clinic.
