The Department of French, Spanish and Italian Coffee House Thursday, March 7, 2013 An evening of poetry, theatre and music Performances by: Carly Berthon Jayson Rona McKenna Stone Breanna Mitchell, Joseph D’Arcangelo, Marco Trunzo and Karina Santaniello Samantha Steele-Mitchell with Carmine La Rosa Students from FREN 2642 and Michelle Keller The Department of French, Spanish and Italian Coffee House On Thursday, March 7, 2013, students and staff of the Department of French, Spanish and Italian and their friends were treated to an evening of performances by their colleagues. Jayson Rona performed “Hijo de la luna”, a song based on the García Lorca poem, as well as a popular song called “Hay más”. Breanna Mitchell, Joseph D’Arcangelo, Marco Trunzo and Karina Santaniello performed a skit they wrote titled “Donna Giovanna”. Carly Berthon played acoustic guitar and sang “Micheline” and “Si mes vers avaient des ailes”. Samantha Steele-Mitchell sang a Carmine Coppola song called “Giulia e l’infinito” accompanied by Carmine La Rosa. McKenna Stone sang “J’avais rêvé d’une autre vie” from Les Misérables. And the French “Poésie du romantisme au symbolisme” class debuted an original collective work. Michelle Keller emceed the event and played Chopin’s Prelude Op. 28, No. 6 and Valse Op. 69, No. 2. Thanks to Michelle Keller and Emmanuelle Renault for coordinating the event and to the volunteers who helped decorate the room. A special thanks also to Prof. Louise Renée for all of her support.
