The "CT40 Future Star" competition's top prize includes a Music Row recording session, a meeting with superstar Ronnie Dunn and executives from Sony Music Nashville/Arista Records, and a performance at Country Radio Seminar 2012 in front of radio programmers from all over the country. "I couldn't be happier to announce this competition," said Kingsley, CT40's host and executive producer. "Finding and getting the word out about new and breaking artists has always been a passion of mine. The CT40 Future Star contest will give new singers across the country the chance to shine without ever leaving home." Contestants go to www.CT40FutureStar.com and choose one of ten karaoke tracks of present-day hits. They record their own performance of the song, sung to the track, then upload that performance to Youtube.com and link that video to www.CT40FutureStar.com for voting. Fan voting will determine the Top 40 vote-getters, so contestants are urged to get their friends and family members to vote for their performances. Entries are just $15 per song and contestants can enter with as many songs as they like. The Top 40 vote-getters will then be narrowed to the Top 10 by the Trifectone Music Group. The CT40 Future Star will then be picked from the Top 10 by Sony Label Music executives, the Trifectone Music Group, and a representative from William Morris Entertainment. The winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Nashville, including airfare for two from anywhere in the continental U.S., four nights at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Nashville, and $500 in spending money, in addition to the recording session, industry meetings, and CRS performance before an invitation-only luncheon for radio programmers. The contest is underway through January 15, 2012, when online voting ends.
