Outaouais Tourism salutes outstanding members of the flight crew!
Outaouais, April 24, 2015 – During its recent exclusive flight, Le happening touristique de l’Outaouais regional
tourism awards night (boarded by some 250 passengers), Outaouais Tourism presented seven awards of
recognition, live from the Vintage Wings of Canada aircraft collection in the hangar of the Gatineau-Ottawa
Executive Airport.
“This evening, we are delighted to celebrate the results of our collective efforts,” said Manuela Teixeira,
Outaouais Tourism board chair, in her opening remarks. “Our industry boasts a truly remarkable crew: a group
of passionate people who, day in and day out, strive to position the Outaouais region as one of Quebec’s top
tourist destinations.”
For this special edition, Outaouais Tourism invited residents and visitors alike to select the winners of the 2015
“People’s Choice” awards by voting for their favourite tourist attractions and enterprises among 54 finalists in
6 categories. Great news: we logged a record 5,130 votes! The winner of the seventh award, “Outstanding
Tourism Employee,” was chosen by a peer jury of industry professionals.
Hosted by Outaouais Tourism and sponsored by the Casino du Lac-Leamy, the chartered flight featured
outstanding food service provided by 15 local restaurants and producers, allowing guests to discover or
rediscover the culinary talents and flavours of the Outaouais region. Thanks to our catering partners
