A former director general of the Palestinian interior ministry, and a close friend of Dahlan who worked with him in Gaza, when Dahlan was in charge of the security forces. The brother and close associate of Samir Almashharawi, reportedly an adviser to Dahlan in Gaza. Targeted as part of Abbas crackdown on Dahlan. Mohammed Yahya Shamia Born 1978 in Gaza, Palestine. A Dahlan associate and founder of a pro-Palestinian charity based in Geneva according to numerous reports in the Arab press. BIRN was unable to confirm this independently. Ghassan Jadallah Born 1978 in Gaza, Palestine. A politician, Dahlan associate and former leader of the Fatah youth movement. Targeted as part of Abbas crackdown on Dahlan. Born 1966 in Saudi Arabia, wife of Mohammed Dahlan. A powerful advocate of her husband’s presidential ambitions, she maintains a high public profile. A. D.
