Bonne semaine !

[DEOS-L] Reminder about ePortfolio Online workshop beginning on Tuesday
Titre: TLT Group online workshop on electronics portfolios
Organisateur: Prof. Darren Cambridge (George Mason University; known around the world for his work on
ePortfolios) and Stephen C. Ehrmann, Ph.D. Director of the Flashlight Program for the Study and Improvement of
Educational Uses of Technology
Thématique: Instead of looking at ePortfolios as a dramatic technological revolution, we'll help participants see
their use as an incremental improvement in how academic work gets done (an improvement that can occur if all the
conditions are right). So, to prepare for an ePortfolio initiative, it's important to take a look at how those activities are
currently happening at your institution, and why they happen that way.

CALL FOR PAPERS - The 14th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED 2009)
Titre: The International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED2009)
Organisateur: Art Graesser
Thématique: The International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED2009) is part of an ongoing
series of biennial international conferences for top quality research in intelligent systems and cognitive science for
educational computing applications. The conference provides opportunities for the cross-fertilization of techniques
from many fields that make up this interdisciplinary research area, including: artificial intelligence, computer
science, cognitive and learning sciences, education, educational technology, psychology, philosophy, sociology,
anthropology, linguistics, and the many domain-specific areas for which AIED systems have been designed and
evaluated.
AIED 09 will focus on the theme "Building Learning Systems that Care: From Knowledge Representation to
Affective Modeling". This extends an AIED vision proposed some 20 years ago by John Self. The field has moved a
long way since then. It is now widely accepted that effective learning environments are expected to care about both
learners and tutors, and to have a good understanding of the variety of learning contexts. The key research question
now is how to tackle the complex issues related to building learning systems that care, ranging from representing
knowledge and context to modeling social, cognitive, metacognitive, and affective dimensions. This requires linking
theory and technology from artificial intelligence, cognitive science, and computer science with theory and practice
from education and social science.

Titre: The Second International Conference on ICT & Accessibility
Organisateurs: Prof. Mohamed Jemni, Head of the Research Laboratory UTIC, University of Tunis, Tunisia, Prof.
Kinshuk, Director of the School of Computing and Information Systems, Athabasca University, Canada
Thématique: ICTA 09 will provide a unique forum for all research related to ICT and e-accessibility. This
conference addresses new trends and challenges, emerging technologies and progress in standards relevant to today's
fast moving areas of Information and Communication Technologies. It will also discuss how e-accessibility can be
supported and improved. ICTA 09 will devote a particular attention to e-learning and e-accessibility. In fact, the
main objective of e-learning is to provide instruction and education to all kind of learners independently of their
different places, different cultures or of different abilities. With this vision, e-learning should be barrierless and
accessible for all. Furthermore, W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) has developed a series of guidelines
which help to ensure that Web resources can be accessed by people with disabilities. However, the accessibility of elearning provides additional challenges that may not be faced when providing access to other Web resources.

APPELS À PUBLICATION
CfP IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies
Titre: IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies (TLT)
Thème: The Web revolution, the popularity of on-line learning, and the broad availability of computers in schools,
colleges, universities, workplaces and in other social settings has caused a qualitative change in the field of learning
technologies. Both the variety and the complexity of e-learning tools have increased dramatically over the last 10
years. A number of new conferences emerged to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners in the field of
learning technologies to discuss their work. Yet, there are very few journals, which embrace the field as a whole and
provide a space to publish archival quality papers. The goal of IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies (TLT)
is to bridge this gap.

Appel à articles, Distance et Savoirs
Titre : Distances et Savoirs, Volume 7, Numéro 4, 4ème trimestre 2009
Organisateurs : Ismaïl Timimi, Eric Delamotte, Daniel Peraya

[DEOS-L] : ABA Releases New Book on Distance Learning and Copyright
Titre: Distance Learning and Copyright
Thème: Distance learning is one of the hottest trends in education today. By 2010, it is estimated that virtually all
colleges will offer some part of their curriculum via distance learning technology, and schools at the K-12 level are
also getting in the game. However, the law in this area is underdeveloped and often what is permissible in practice in
face-to-face teaching situations constitutes copyright infringement when used in distance learning. This book is
designed to explain this disparate treatment, inform educators and attorneys about the legal responsibilities of
teaching distance learning courses, and help educational institutions avoid unwanted copyright infringement liability.
