SH1 Piarere to Oak Tree Bend Realignment (2005 – 2007) Client Position Held Value Transit New Zealand Project Manager and Deputy Team Leader NZ$10M (construction value) Project manager / deputy team leader for the design and project documentation phase of a 4.5km realignment of State Highway 1. Included earthworks, bridge replacement, intersections, property entrances and pavement. Role included project management, financial tracking, liaison with landowners and client, and writing contract documents. Managed a team to produce the final design, drawings, cost estimate, risk analysis, economic evaluation, consent applications, safety audit and archaeological assessment. East Taupo Arterial (2006-2007) Client Position Held Transit New Zealand Assistant Geotechnical Engineer Assisted in the geotechnical investigations, supervising drilling and logging core. Designed a reinforced earth embankment across a gully approximately 20m high. Design was challenging as the embankment was in earthquakeprone zone and had a stream to be diverted through a culvert that was at risk of blocking during an earthquake. Waikite Reservoir (2006-2007) Client Position Held Tauranga District Council Geotechnical Engineer Geotechnical engineer, designed piles for the foundation, gabion basket retaining walls, prepared specifications and coordinated drawings for construction. Rotorua Road/Rail Link Strategic Assessment (2005-2006) and Transport Strategy (2006) Client Position Held Value Rotorua District Council Assistant Project Manager, Team Leader $120K fees Involved writing transport strategy and assessing the long term scenario in Rotorua for Rail and Bus passenger transport. Included investigating options for a suitable transport centre and considering urban design implications. Involved in consultation workshops and presented study findings to senior council management. Cambridge CBD Upgrade Stage 5 (2005) Client Position Value Waipa District Council Site Representative $1.3M (construction value) Site engineer for Stage 5 of Cambridge’s CBD Upgrade. Involved high level of public interest, and a complex traffic detour on to State Highway 1. Role included general site supervision and inspections, frequent communication with the contractor including weekly site meetings, and assisting the engineer’s representative.
