The successful candidate will have a proven record of excellence in environmental chemistry, materials chemistry, or industrial chemistry. Preferred candidates will hold a Ph.D. in a chemistry-related field, and will demonstrate a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching and an ongoing research program. Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching dossier (including recent teaching evaluations), statement of research interests, sample of scholarly work, and academic transcripts. The Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Alberta (http://pharm.ualberta.ca) invites applications for a full time tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in Medicinal Chemistry/Drug Discovery, within the Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Applicants should demonstrate the potential to achieve international recognition in emerging fields related to Medicinal Chemistry. Candidates must have a Ph.D. focused in the fields of Medicinal Chemistry/Synthetic Organic Chemistry. Candidates must also provide evidence of postdoctoral training in Medicinal Chemistry acquired through an academic or industry-related background. In this regard, candidates should have a strong record of research accomplishments and experience (or potential) to effectively mentor research trainees. Preference will be given to candidates with (a) record of independent research funding and (b) prior teaching experience. The candidate will have excellent opportunities to develop collaborative interactions not only with members of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences but also with a wide variety of research institutes and departments within the Katz Group Centre for Pharmacy/Health Research and the University of Alberta. The Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences offers one of the strongest Pharmacy degree programs in Canada. The Faculty currently has 520 undergraduate and 60 graduate students.
