Objectif de la base de données
The COSET programme's general objective
(Work-Related Epidemiological Surveillance
Objectif principal
Critères d'inclusion
Cohort) is to provide information on the health of
the economically active population in connection
with occupational factors. The programme shall
help identify occupations and working conditions
that pose a health risk, and provide prevention
recommendations. The programme relies on data
from multiple representative cohorts of
economically active individuals from three
principal social welfare schemes. The DTS formed
cohorts of workers affiliated with the the RSI
(Social Security Scheme for Independent
Workers) (see COSET-RSI sheet) and the MSA
(Social Security Scheme for Agricultural
Workers).
The objectives of the COSET-RSI cohort are
similar to the COSET programme that applies to
workers registered with the Social Security
Scheme for Independent Workers.
Specific objectives:
- To describe and monitor the links between
morbidity/mortality between workers and
occupational exposure, whether it is physical,
chemical, psychosocial or organisational;
- To describe and monitor the links between
morbidity/mortality between workers and
occupational exposure, whether it is physical,
chemical, psychosocial or organisational;
- To calculate morbidity/mortality fractions from
occupational exposure factors;
- To promote the establishment of ad hoc studies
to identify issues that are emerging or poorly
documented in the scientific plan;
- To identify and monitor sub-populations affected
by specific risks on a large scale;
- To compare workers affiliated with different
social security schemes and monitored as part of
the COSET programme.
Men and women between 18 and 65 years old
and affiliated with the RSI at the time of random
selection.

Procédures qualité utilisées
Consistency checks during computerised data
entry. Management of partial or wave nonresponse by imputation and correction of
complete non-response through re-weighting
using leveraged external data (health insurance
and pension databases) collected for
respondents and non-respondent sample.
Individuals are informed about the use of their
data in writing at baseline. Individuals can refuse
the passive follow-up of their data (medicaladministrative).
