GENESIS
The performance, reliability and comfort of the CATANA catamarans are universally recognized by
their owners. In crew or solo, it is necessary that your boat is easily manoeuvrable by one person,
under sail as well as under engines.
The man and his boat is not quite the relationship of a living being to an object, but rather a
harmony between the man (or woman) and his accomplice.
Between you and your ship, it will forge strong links over the miles, you will live unforgettable
moments.
From this alchemy is born the CATANA 42.
CONSTRUCTION
 Manufacturing Process
Mould built with three main parts with joint localised at the keel junction.
Inside hull and bridge mould built in one part to warranty the maximum of rigidity.
Like many years, GRP hull are made in infusion Foam Sandwich, with polyester and vynilester resin. It’s
reinforced with Monolithic, with Aramid fiber Twaron Impact and now many areas are built with 100% of
carbon fiber to kill the weight. These areas are chain plates side, horizontal spars for rigidity and mast foot.
The deck is also made in infusion Foam Sandwich with monolithic reinforcements. Many areas are made in full
carbon fiber like roof, roof reinforcement, deck reinforcement, mast foot area and mast stanchion.
Structural main bulkheads are now made in full sandwich Foam/Carbon infusion. To provide the best quality
and lifetime every openings like doors and technical holes are integrated and built pendant during the infusion
process.
 Structure integrity
The hull/deck/Bulkheads joint are glued and continuously laminated. In some areas like main bulkheads,
stanchion and frame floor are laminated with 100% Carbon Fiber.
The hull and deck are as solid as though they were cast in one piece, guarantying an outstanding strength and
lifespan.
