ultraluxe du cognac. Surtout pour
la plus ancienne de ses maisons.
Martell lance, en Chine, et dans les duty free
asiatiques, un coffret en série limitée baptisé
Martell Expédition 1858. La marque de
Pernod Ricard, qui s’apprête à fêter ses
300ans, s’est inspirée d’une des dates clé de
son histoire: la première expédition de cognac
en Chine. Les archivistes de la maison ont
retrouvé les notes d’assemblage qui ont
permis au maître de chais de reproduire un
blend proche du jus d’origine. Ce spiritueux
d’exception se niche dans un packaging
alliant design et technicité. p

ce coffret prestigieux,
de s’associer avec deux
partenaires : Interesting
Sourcing et Hertus.
Le premier s’est chargé
de la réalisation du coffret,
de la frette et du système
de bouchage de la bouteille.
Le second du décor du flacon.
Avec un cahier des charges
clair : premiumiser
au maximum cette
édition limitée à moins
de 10 000 exemplaires.

For this prestigious gift case,
Martell chose to team up
with two partners:
Interesting Sourcing
and Hertus. The former
was responsible for
the implementation of
the gift case, the collar
and the closure system
for the bottle, and the latter
for the bottle’s decoration.
And the brief was clear:
the maximum possible
premiumising of this limited
edition of 10,000 units.
3COFFRET - OUTER PACKAGING
othing is too beautiful for the universe of ultra luxury cognac, and
especially for the oldest of the
houses. In China and Asian duty frees,
Martell has launched a limited edition gift
case, named Martell Expédition 1858. This
Pernod Ricard brand, which is preparing
to celebrate its 300 year anniversary, was
inspired by one of the key dates in its history:
the first shipment of cognac to China.
The house archivists found the assembly
notes which enabled their cellar master to
reproduce the closest possible blend to the
original version. This exceptional spirit is
contained in packaging which combines
design and technology. p

LES INNOVATIONS
WHAT’S NEW
3BOUCHON. Très pesant, il combine surlyn
et zamac. La mention Expédition 1858,
inscrite à l’intérieur, est recouverte
de surlyn transparent. Le pourtour, en
surlyn givré, crée un jeu visuel poli/dépoli.
3STOPPER. Very heavy, it combines surlyn
and zamac. The words Expédition 1858
are inscribed on the inside of the cap
which is covered with transparent surlyn.
The circumference, in frosted surlyn,
plays on polished/matt effects.
3DÉCOR. La forme verrière de la
bouteille est un classique du cognac.
Toute l’originalité tient dans le décor.
Recouverte d’un laquage dégradé or,
elle laisse voir à son sommet la couleur
du jus. La base a reçu un traitement au laser
pour découvrir des feuilles de vigne.
3DECORATION. The shape of the bottle
is a classic cognac form. Its originality
lies in its decoration. Covered with a graded
lacquer, it reveals the colour of the liquid
at the top. Its base has received a laser
treatment recreating vine leaves.
3COFFRET. Laqué mat et brillant avec
la technique de la sous-laque pour protéger
les inscriptions, il est doté d’un jeu de portes
coulissantes sur des glissières en plexiglas.
Un certificat gravé sur une plaque
métallique est encastré à l’arrière du coffret
par un jeu d’aimants. Chaque exemplaire
est numéroté. Un numéro est également
indiqué sur la frette de la bouteille.
3OUTER PACKAGING. Lacquered in matt
and gloss, with a sub-lacquer technique to
protect the inscriptions, it has a set of sliding
doors on Plexiglas tracks. A certificate
engraved on a metal plate is held in place
on the rear of the case by a set of magnets.
Every unit is numbered, and the number
is also displayed on the collar of the bottle.
