Friday, April 20
The Grad Committee will be hosting a fundraising pizza
lunch for Grade 6-11 students. The cost is $5 for two
slices of all dressed, cheese or vegetarian pizza.

Please note the following dates for the end-of-year MELS compulsory exams:
Grade 4: Français écriture- May 28-31
Grade 6: English Language Arts- May 7-11
Français écriture et lecture- May 22-31
Mathematics- June 11-14
All Grade 4 and Grade 6 students need to be present at school on the dates mentioned. No
retakes of these exams will be possible. These exams will count for 20% of the final mark of

Books and Breakfast

Dear Parents,
We would like to invite you to participate in our annual Books and Breakfast event on
Friday, April 27. Our B&B will take place from 7:15-8:10 a.m. in the Gym. Come with
your child, your favourite storybook and a blanket. At 8:10 a.m., a storyteller will be
coming in to entertain the girls with her wonderful stories. You are more than welcome to
stay and listen!
In order to provide us with an idea of how many parents plan on attending, please
complete and return the bottom portion of this sheet. Every child must be accompanied
by an adult. If you would like to bring food, please indicate it below.

Nous vous invitons à participer à notre « Déjeuner-Lecture » annuel le vendredi 27 avril.
Le Déjeuner-Lecture aura lieu au gymnase de 7h15 à 8h10. Venez avec votre enfant,
votre livre de contes préféré et une couverture. À 8h10, une conteuse viendra divertir les
filles en leur racontant des histoires. Vous êtes les bienvenus à rester pour entendre
ses histoires distrayantes.
Nous vous demandons, afin de planifier le nombre de personne qui y assistera, de
confirmer votre présence en remplissant le coupon ci-dessous. Toutes les enfants
doivent être accompagnées d’un adulte.

Chers parents,
La présente est pour vous informer que nous aborderons le thème de la puberté au cours
des prochaines semaines pendant les classes de science et les classes d’éducation
physique.
Afin de les préparer à prendre des décisions éclairées tout au long de leur croissance et de
leur adolescence, les élèves étudieront les diverses transformations physiques, sociales et
émotionnelles liées à la puberté.
En science, les cours seront, en partie, basés sur le programme Grandir d’Always élaboré
par des médecins et des éducateurs. Ce programme atteint de façon efficace le
développement des habiletés personnelles et des habiletés sociales, du programme
officiel du MELS, reliées à la santé et aux relations interpersonnelles.
Voici les thèmes qui seront abordés :
- Les étapes du développement physique de l’être humain
- Le fonctionnement du système reproducteur
- Le cycle menstruel
- Les règles d’hygiène corporelle
D'autres thèmes concernant le corps humain seront abordés en éducation physique.
Si vous avez des questions, n’hésitez pas à communiquer avec l’enseignante de science et

Dear Parents,
We will be starting our Puberty Education unit in Science and in Physical Education
class, and we will be discussing the topic over the next few weeks.
In order to help them to make informed choices all throughout their adolescence, students
will learn about the physical, social and emotional changes that come with puberty.
In Science, the classes will be based in part on the AlwaysTM Grandir Program, designed
by doctors and educators. This program deals very effectively with personal and social
skills development related to health and interpersonal relations, as required by the official
MELS program.
We will be dealing with the following themes:
- The stages of physical development of the human body
- How the reproductive system works
- The menstrual cycle
- The rules of personal hygiene
Other themes concerning the human body will be discussed in Physical Education class.
