Eriko Horiki
Eriko Horiki, née en 1962 à Kyoto (Japon), utilise le Washi, un papier traditionnel japonais, dans ses
créations destinées au design intérieur. Fabriquées à partir de la fibre du mûrier, les feuilles de Washi
(20x27 cm) permettent en effet de travailler et de diffuser une lumière très douce et riche en texture,
à même d’illuminer et de magnifier l’œuvre architecturale.
Eriko Horiki conçoit, planifie, produit et dirige ses installations Washi, dont les plus récentes sont
visibles à la Galleria de Tokyo Midtown, dans un nouvel immeuble gouvernemental à Chiyoda-ku, à
l’Ambassade de France de Tokyo, ainsi que dans le terminal 1 de l’aéroport international de Narita.
Eriko Horiki a aussi conçu la scénographie de YO-YO MA, un concert de violoncelle tenu au Carnegie
Hall (New-York).

Eriko Horiki, born in 1962 in Kyoto (Japan), creates original interior artworks of WASHI paper (Japanese traditional paper; basic sheet size of 2700 X 2100mm) based on the theme «Creation of
WASHI paper artwork appeared lively in the architectural space,» by planning, designing, producing,
and instructing directions on the installation. Recent works have been shown in the Galleria of TOKYO
Midtown, a new government office building in Chiyoda-ku, Embassy of France in Tokyo Ambassador’s residence, the Arrival Lobby of Narita International Airport Terminal 1, and directed stage designing for the YO-YO MA cello concert at Carnegie Hall (N.Y., USA).
